Thank you. She’s going to get all the things.
I’m so glad you got her in so you know and I certainly hope she will rally through.
I hope you have many good days with her still.
Thank you! She seems fine in herself. I’ve decided to not put her on the pain meds because they completely zonked her out. There’s no way she could be that sedated for 2 weeks straight- she would not be able to eat! I had to check on her twice during the night to make sure she was still breathing as she hadn’t moved. Once the drugs had cleared her system she was back to normal but it was a little scary to see.
I’m sorry it wasn’t better news. I hope you have many good times ahead with her.
Glad she feels good enough to wrestle the vet.
Hi crackerjack, so first off how is your girl doing?
Has there been any new revelations?
So, your post resonated with me as my 19yr old cat has a similar “trying to get food stuck from between his teeth” reflex movement after he eats. It’s troubling as I’m noticing that he walks away from his bowl only after starting to eat…so, he’s associating discomfort with eating…not good.
Also, as it’s a reflex motion, both front paws go to his mouth…so there’s nothing to support him and it’s only because of his cat like reflexes that he’s able to quickly return his paws to the ground so his head doesn’t hit it…but it gets close sometimes.
He definitely needs dental work but after reading about what you discovered I’m wondering if my cat has the same thing.
He’s supposed to get all his teeth extracted in the next 2 weeks but I don’t want to put him through that if it’s not the real issue.
Just trying to gather all the input I can…
Thanks,
J.
It’s kind of settled down but it did always come and go. A while ago I was reading on one of my FB groups of someone else’s cat who did the same thing. It was caused by a growth- i believe she got it removed but it may have started growing back.
My cat is now 19 (as of a few weeks ago) so I won’t be putting her through anything. She had to go to the vet again for rear end issues a couple of months ago and she was absolutely terrified. Vet diagnosed her with asthma as she was panting so much…ummm no. So no more vet visits - we are lucky that we have a local service that can come to the house instead.
Long story short- not really any more developments!
A recent photo… just because!!
Hello beautiful kitty.
She’s beautiful!
She’s lovely…thanks for the update.
