I have a 1998 Barnsby Kanter Dressage Saddle (serial number 59558. Size 17.5, Wide) still in excellent shape. I was wondering how much I could sell it for?
I have priced a few Barnsby’s on-line recently as I found one on consignment and was doing my due diligence. I have seen them mostly in the $400-1300 range here in the US. They appear to be well-made, high quality saddles, but not “on trend” at the moment, so the prices reflect that. Speaking purely as a buyer in the market for a used saddle, even in excellent shape, yours is a 20 year old saddle, so getting top dollar will depend on finding the buyer who wants that EXACT saddle.
In the past few years, I have sold three older Barnsbys within this range: $500 - $1200. Barnsby is no longer in business, BTW.
