You guys are fantastic. I’m starting Omega Horseshine tonight: 20% crude protein, 38% Crude fat. Selenium at 1.9 ppm Min. IF I have done the math correctly, this is still under the selenium protocol. I’ll give this a 28 day cycle and reevaluate.
Speaking to the vet about possibly testing for PPID come fall. He does meet certain criteria BUT those criteria are also explained by environmental factors (Sweating, repeated corneal ulcers very prone to infection). Cushings for him has never crossed my mind, but it is now on my radar thanks to your suggestions.
He is NOT on the exact batch of coastal that was there prior, so I’m sure that nutrition is not ideal. I am woeful that coastal is my main option of hay at this current barn without completely going rogue and buying/storing/transporting my own monthly -sadly not an option for me right now.
