2022 Maryland 5* at Fair Hill

Yep! The black line on the number indicates an option. :+1:t2: After the division was finished we walked up close to many of the fences and they were all so huge including those owls!

I want to say one other rider besides Woods took the owls option. It would have been towards the end (after Woods). I thought it was maybe Lauren? We were at the crab but could see the fence 20 in the distance. I heard John Kyle say the rider was taking the option at 20, but I looked over kind of late and only saw them coming out of it.

Thank youā¤ļø. That horse has a huge heart and tries so hard. I’m sure he has some effects from that save yesterday. 3 top 10 finishes in 5* and only 11… Thats why you make and don’t buy them…

I agree and the footing was PERFECT!!! It is truly amazing! I could lay down and take a nap on it! I think this allowed the riders to have faster times.

Yes it was Lauren. Rode beautifully.

Thank you for confirming I wasn’t crazy. I remembered it being Lauren but didn’t necessarily remember it being a grey horse I saw when I looked over, so I started doubting myself.

And had it been raining heavily, it would have been a sh*tshow with all that terrain.

I grew up minutes from Fair Hill and my earliest memories of the Fair Hill International are just mud. Soooo much mud. Sliding down embankments for mud. Jumping out of what seemed like fetlock-deep mud.

I was the eliminated rider escort in the Timber field and I could not believe how many ground hog holes there were in the middle of the field. It is a thriving community that must have retreated to the woods for the past few weeks! Most of them were marked or filled in but I did mark two so people did not step in them.

In contrast, I’ve only been attending FH since 2014 and do not remember there being a single muddy XC day.

I grew up less than 10 minutes away, but left the area for many years, then moved back in 2017. I don’t remember a muddy day since 2017 but boy oh boy do I remember them in the 90s and early 00s. Soooo much mud.

Those were long format days, though. Things were different then.

Anyone know when scores will be up? There are no dressage or CC scores.

Scores for what?

Uh, the title of this thread? Am I missing something?

All of the scores are here https://results.hippo-server.net/2022/2181/html/us/hippodata/index.html
Details here https://live.rechenstelle.de/2022/elkton/leaderboard01.html

Ah. They were listed on Event Entries and it kept saying ā€œscores have not been updatedā€. Thanks.

You’re welcome  I figured you had been looking there and it wasn’t populated.

I was there as a vendor. I couldn’t watch anything, but a friend of mine that was watching the livestream texted me to go fist bump him. I did it simply because she asked, and the security guy was so sweet. I’m glad he was noticed :smiling_face_with_three_hearts:

The security guy, Jarret, was fantastic! I didn’t get a chance to watch any of the live stream, but saw this post on FB a little bit ago:

Astier and Babylon jumped it too, after their refusal at the corner.

2010 is the worst year I remember. Tons scratched rather than run in it. Mud was coming in over the top of my wellies. Agree that, if it rains, Fair Hill is very, very different.
