Phase 1 Standings/Phase 2 Order: https://files.usef.org/assets/SO7e3wIxlxQ/2022-talent-search-scoringphase-ii-order.pdf
Many moons ago and I mean many, the flat phase was a dressage test that you had to design yourself, two minutes long, that had at least the required movements of a traditional flat for the USET. You had to turn in a copy before the class. It was 1995
Did they do that approach more than one year?
I really like this gymnastics course. A trot fence, bounces, and the circle of death! Less “pick your bending lines” and more what I would consider to be gymnastic exercises. I also like the 3-1 line.
Are you getting any audio?
I have audio (no commentary, but I can hear the announcer, etc.). Sometimes there’s an ‘unmute’ in the upper left-hand corner of the video screen.
I competed in the early 2000s (2002?) and it was somewhat similar - you had to do a individual flat ride of 3 minutes including certain required movements, but did not have to turn it in so you could adjust on the fly if something didn’t go to plan. At the end of the 3 minutes, they rang a bell and you went directly into the gymnastics course.
For the Circle of Death, are they requiring a certain # of strides between each?
Refreshed and now have audio. Seen some lovely rides and some not quite ready for primetime rides, but think the course is great. Lots for the not quite ready riders and horses to learn from without getting in trouble that will cause damage. Top riders can really show their preparation.
I am just tuning in and love this course.
Some of these trainer whoops are kind of hilarious. I feel like being away from the horse world for this long makes them seem even more absurd.
Not the best day for Dominic Gibbs. Too bad, he’s a lovely rider, but lacked the finesse today.
Beautiful ride by Alex Alston.
I’m a little surprised by the number of issues at the trot jump. I get these are their jumpers so maybe not as used to trotting int he middle of the course as their eq horses, but that one’s kind of a basic training tool. Going to be interesting to see how this phase shakes up the standings.
Alex was lovely except the slight stick at the trot jump.
Trot jumps are evil.
Who is he trained by?
North Run
I am trying to view the results here ( SHOW MANAGEMENT SYSTEM) which is the link from the USEF site, but there are no results posted for yesterday or today. Can anyone else see the results?
(I thought it might be my browser not loading, but I’ve tried it with 2 different browsers)
