This begs the question: What were the actual circumstances of his leaving? We know that he has spoken untruths regarding the horse’s condition etc., so why should anyone believe him regarding his work situation? Did he leave on his own as stated or was it one of those “mutual decisions” that happen at times?

The title of his original role at the organization was “Senior Operations Analyst”. The bullet points he has listed as responsibilities are much more in line with a Dispatcher role. There is likely minimal to no technical analysis being done in this role and it most definitely is not an engineering role. The title is a fluff title IMO. It does not take away from the importance of the role of a Dispatcher in a logistics org, but dispatching =/= technical. Dispatchers in HCOL areas can definitely make hive fives-low sixes especially if non exempt with OT (though many logistics orgs classify as exempt). He was promoted to a manager level in June 2022 after 9 months in the Analyst role, but I am assuming his employment ended prior to this adventure.

It doesn’t beg any question. What job he had or why he left it has absolutely nothing to do with Falcon’s well-being on this ride.
Sitting around gossiping about what might or might not be Cyril’s work history is being like a bunch of old hens who have never grown out of junior-high bitchiness.
You’re supposed to be horsewomen. Put your time and effort into helping the poor horse.

I think it does. If his work has been in logistics, or with a logistics org, why does he seem so bad at it? Taking care of an animal often does involve logistics. In this case, he would have needed quite a bit of supply chain management put in place to ensure that the horse had at least feed and water along the way. His trip planning for this did not seem to include the idea that a horse isn’t a motorcycle.

And there’s another problem. How does one help Falcon and not endanger the next horse or horses? From that video he posted, it seems he is getting frayed.

I am a little more peeved that everyone assumes he’s some super successful tech guy and is either financially set through comp/RSUs, which the Series A would not have, or is a brilliant engineer that thinks he can do anything, which he is not. Entitled jerks come from all backgrounds.

Exactly. And allowing Falcon to gobble up whatever the feed stores offer in various broken bags is not the same as filling up a tank of gasoline.

He seems to have embarked on this journey with next to zero planning and logistics, other than relying on the kindness of strangers to indulge him in his fantasy.

I agree. If he did have a logistics job, why is everything he should have mastered going wrong now?

If he demonstrated a lack of competence at such a job, it further erodes his credibility to be able to handle this ride.

But we have no idea exactly what the job entailed or what his performance was. Or any further reasons behind him no longer working there.

The earlier poster describes this as a “dispatch“ job but does not seem to know the exact duties. Just the title. I am not sure why there is so much dismissiveness regarding the nature of a dispatch job.

Dispatch is a critical position and one that demands a good grasp of the kinds of things anyone would need for a ride like this.

We are unlikely ever to know the internal details of the job or why he left. But if he failed at that job, in my mind, that would be another reason why he should not be pursuing this ride, just due to basic lack of mindset and capability.

I think it’s a relevant comment on his job description because we’d been thinking he was a programmer due to working in tech. And he has declared himself to be permanently severed from his job. His line is he was offered a years leave but just decided to quit. And now he is broke

IMHO that shows part of the pattern of impulsive action that characterizes the whole performance. Most people would save up money and then take a leave of absence. Of course it’s totally possible he was just fired outright.

Anyhow it’s all part of the picture. And I’m seeing him as someone having a personal meltdown and not making good decisions.

Fair point. I did just assume that he was an arrogant tech bro. But you are right, self-important idiots come from all walks of life and levels of education.

He could also pick up tech bro culture from his workplace even if he’s not a programmer himself.

Oh gawd. I dated a guy like this…met him at a fraternity party in college and he acted like he was in it but wasn’t really. He ended up being a pretty terrible person morally/ethically which isn’t a shocker.

The other day when he was doing his most lastest update (I linked the TT up thread) he recounts a story where he was attacked at a barn party by the BF of the vet tech where Falcon was the other week.

Point is, in the update, he said something along the lines of “people in town knew I was coming and invited me to the party… I was the guest of honor!!!” Which I guess he may have been, but that would inply that the party was organized for him. So how would they know where he will be when he is not telling anyone where he is, and he posts a few days after he has been in a location.

This guy is delusional.

Highways 84 and 87 both run though Lubbock. 84 then heads west to Clovis, 87 joins with I27 to Amarillo. So he could still be on his original route of 87

LOL that’s so bad it truly is funny

This is a heartbreaking read about the horse. The horse won’t make it through Colorado. :pensive:

He was the guest of interest.

I saw that TT through a link, and got the idea that the ‘party’ is a regular get-together for some horsey/barney locals. Somehow they ran across or were tipped off to Knucklehead coming through the area. And thought it would be fun to invite him and just see what he was like.

Who knows if his story about being “attacked” is true - what does that even mean, exactly. It is very possible that someone confronted him verbally, not physically. With a lot of energy, especially if they were drunk. If so, that’s regrettable. It will just harden Knucklehead’s resolve to ‘show everybody’ and alienate others.

Whatever Knucklehead deserves, it is very important to handle things with discretion, as it is important to keep the gp on side through this.

Most recent update from Cereal himself is a video of Post TX “animal control” saying that the horse is shod, well fed, and looks fine. Granted - the “animal control” looked like two guys, dressed in plain clothes, and I didn’t see an AC truck. Falcon was also saddled…

It also appears he’s trailering now, which hopefully means that he’s listening to peoples concerns. It also appears he has altered his plan and is going North and planning to pass through OK to CO according to another TikToker that’s been physically following him.

I have to say while it upsets some, that I am relieved he is at least trailering some and saving Falcon through harder to navigate areas. I know the goal is to save him and the hard truth is “saving him means not helping him”. However, I didn’t mind seeing him in the back of that trailer one bit.

Fingers crossed that this “ride” becomes just a series of photo/video ops.

Maybe west/northwest TX was a reality check — for what this “plan” was going to be like for him. Not fun. Not pretty.

Turns out that doing tough stuff is tough.
