I stopped supporting a horse rescue after they posted something about people shouldnt send their kids to horse camps because all camp horses get dumped at auction at the end of the summer. I tried to correct them and tell them they needed to change it to some camps do this and beware of what camps you send your child to but they basically told me I was wrong.
My kid has gone to multiple different horse camps and none dump their horses. They have the same ones year after year and/or are lesson barns that use the horses year round. I think promoting that instead of making blanket statements that clearly aren’t true would be better to actually help people support the good camps.
