A circuit bridle worthy for <300

^ As someone who is on the search for bridles (and did a lot of forum searches as well) it seems like Pessoa is not all that great.

For your budget, I would say Edgewood or Aramas. Those are two on my list of five total bridles I am currently eyeing. I have an edgewood already, but it’s a thin noseband and half the pieces are really old school edgewood (~15 years old) with a mix of new edgewood (from 2014). The new leather is different indeed, and I do like the older leather more.

I have had great luck with the Greenhawk bridles. I think it was the Mondega one’s. I bought it thinking of it as a schooling bridle, but it has held up so well it has done double duty on more than one occaison.

I have a couple of Crosby bridles that are great…I think they have the options you want. They were both under $200.00. One of them I like better than my Vespucci which was a lot more money

Two years ago I bought 2 bridles from Schneiders just for everyday use. I was so impressed! Those bridles have gone to AA shows and fit right in.

[I have no association with Schneiders – I am just a happy bridle buyer  ]

PS. Unless you have a ratty old, ill fitting, bright orange bridle, any well cared for, well fitted bridle is acceptable. Believe it or not, people do not go around looking at bridles and grading them on a 1 - 10 scale. ;)[/QUOTE]

Not to highjack, but I’m looking at schooling bridles in this range. Do you happen to remember what kind you got- Premier, Pinnacle, or JS? The prices for pinnacle are very tempting, but if JS if a big step up…

My show bridle is from cal-tack a calgary based store, it was 170$ if I recall correctly and I’ve had it for 5 years and its still beautiful. The only thing is I have no idea how you would order one… Ive always visited them at trade shows (spruce meadows and such)

I love my HDR bridle with contoured crown piece so much I bought an additional one in cob. I know HDR is not very popular but I love these bridles for the price point. I got both on sale for $85. They were sold through Dover. http://www.doversaddlery.com/hdr-pro-%22stress-free%22-fancy-stitched-padded-bridle/p/X1-12689/?ids=gv1cfgbv0hwih1gludb3m4kp

You can get it with a plain noseband or flash, but no figure eight. Others on Dover have given it high ratings as well.
