Vineyridge, I’m so very sorry for your loss. I’m sitting here bawling at my computer, we do have a group of wonderful souls on the BB. He’ll be hanging out, hunting some and sleeping some and waiting for you to show up at Rainbow Bridge one day in the future…
“I hope he enjoyed his time here as much as I enjoyed my time with him.” After looking at the photo of him on the stuffed chair I have a hunch he thrived during his time with you. Hugs…

I am so sorry, it is very hard to loose a family member. My thoughts are with you.
My family will be thrilled to know who the author is. Thank you.
I’m so sorry, Vineyridge. He was very lucky to have you in his life.
My deepest sympathy Vineyridge. You have talked to us of Eli before and each time your love for him shone through. I know that you feel loss right now, but I also know that you made Eli’s last years happy and fulfilling. Bless you!
vineyridge: so sorry that you had to say “farewell for now” to Eli. He looked like he was a great ol’ hound!
I gotta say, this BB is filled with such thoughtful, well-read and sensitive folks. The sentiments shared here are wonderful.

I’m sure Eli loved you and the tender care you gave him. Animals have a sense for those who love them. Take solace to know that he body lies with many of his kind and his spirit can still touch you. When you hear a howling at night, think of Eli. When you see an animal running gleefully, think of Eli. When a good friend senses that you’re down and sits beside you, think of Eli.
These are just a few ways that the happiness he brought you may stay with you.
RumoursFollow that is beautiful and perfectly describes what I’d like to believe.
Thanks
I am so sorry for your loss. I know how you feel, having lost my wonderful dog of 17 years at the beginning of June. There is just nothing like a great dog in your life… it is hard to lose them. But clearly, there comes a point where the kindest thing you can do is to let them go, and I have no doubt that we will see them again.
Hugs,
Susan
