A weekend of firsts - (lots of pictures!)

On Saturday Myst had his first ride. After months of ground driving and training Myst proved he was ready to go, or ready to sleep

Sunday was another long day of first times…

Today was another long string of firsts for Myst.

  1. There was being tied to the trailer and his first big outing away from home! (Other than going to the trainers barn or up and down the road)

  1. Seeing and hearing his first Mule and Donkey

  1. and his first time doing a big scary obstacle course!

Myst met a lot of people today and saw a lot of interesting things, including two mini donkeys in full pack and one with a bell on. He learned to that sometimes we get up early and go some place and wait a lot and we have to be patient.

He got a ton of compliments today on how well behaved he was, how patient he was being and impressed a lot of people. He got a lot of compliments on how handsome he is and he had some fans visit with him from Facebook! (That was fun!) One wonderful man said " I know that bridle… is that Myst!"

When we went through the obstacle course Myst did every single obstacle like they were not even there. Even some of the obstacles that tripped up a couple of others Myst followed behind me like we were walking through the park. When we visited the Dragon (A great Dragon prop on the fence that shot out a CO2 Fire extinguisher) he did not even bat an eye, in fact he showed that dragon what he thought about his fire breath by peeing and then snorting in the dragons face.

He got a great round of applause, a lot of wonderful comments and impressed so many people. We got some great feedback from everyone who were really dazzled by his trust in me and how easily we went through the course.

Mysts’ chain of firsts have been the most amazing steps in this process of learning and I could not have been more proud of him. I look forward to him mastering his firsts.

I have trained Myst myself and I am so proud of him, training him as been one of the easiest things to do, he is such a willing partner and I look forward to many more adventures with him.

Well done. You two deserve a big pat on the back! Thanks for sharing the pictures.

Great job - cool pictures!

Thank you very much. I am so so proud of him. I got so very lucky when he chose me to be his partner.
