AA Motion Lite competition jacket

I’m late to the party but have one in the light/ sky blue color and LOVE it! I would say it is noticeably cooler with or without a breeze to the point that I don’t mind wearing it at all during a hot, humid Midwest summer show. I am wanting to pick up a grey one too (and looked during Black Friday without any success). I purchased a medium after trying them on in store but am looking to get it tailored for a better fit this year (and praying the mesh doesn’t make that a problem).

Wow you look FABULOUS!! I don’t think I’ve ever seen this colour

I’ve fallen down the worm hole and now have a couple colours. They are absolutely fantastic jackets for hot muggy weather. Comfortable and it feels like you’re almost jacket less.

Top tip? Get them a bit looser/bigger. If they are too snug, the mesh can stretch a bit funny.

So pretty! If it makes you feel good then by all means you buy it!!

Love my Motionlite coats - i have navy, maroon, and green! Here’s the maroon on my grey horse!

I have the green and love it with my dark chestnut. It is so easy to take care of compared to prior jackets. And don’t wait until you absolutely NEED one. They will probably not be on sale then and maybe out of stock. Get it while the price is probably the best you can do.

I just bought one from Royal Equestrian in the UK. Excellent price, way lower than US prices including shipping.

I like a mesh jacket for AZ- RJ Classics Harmony Grey Label Mesh Show Coat

Found some pics of my navy one with the lighter (Aviation blue, I think?) trim. It wasn’t even that hot that day, and yet I look like I’m about to pass out or spontaneously combust. I wish I looked as cool as the rest of you while showing!

I’m north of you where it’s much cooler, but show a lot down at Westworld. The heat… ugh. So I bought RJ Classics Harmony mesh coats: black and something not quite navy. I think it’s called Moonlight Blue (?). The RJ Classics Harmony mesh seems to fit my body better than the Motionlite. Yet I still yearn for the Motionlite in the primatova maroon. It’d be yummy on my horse!

Do you have pics of the green?

I have the green and get more compliments on it than I have ever gotten on any other fashion choice in my life (not saying much re the rest of my life, but every show I get 2-3 comments on it!).

Oh I really love the maroon, but they all look good. I’ve been debating getting one of these jackets, so it’s nice to hear reviews.

Some really lovely horses and riders in this thread too

Tack of the Day currently has the espresso for $160……just saying.

Am I the only one hung up on the “dressage coat has 4 buttons and a hunt coat has 3 buttons” thing?

Actually, given how short waisted I am, the 3 button is probably a better fit!

Yes, there is much more crossover in styles now, and much shorter jackets being worn in dressage. I just checked and my newish Pikeur has three buttons and is definitely a dressage jacket. The ones in tech fabric are usually labeled as a “competition jacket” and might be used for any discipline.

Wow! That coat with that helmet on a beautiful horse. What a polished look.

BRB while I go buy one (or two) :joy::woman_facepalming:t2:

Am I the only one hung up on the “dressage coat has 4 buttons and a hunt coat has 3 buttons” thing?

Nope. And while we’re at it, unless you’ve earned your colors with a hunt, you shouldn’t be wearing colored tops on your boots either

FYI, Horze has a very nice mesh option with 4 buttons!
