I saw that Boyd was fidgeting with something but couldnât figure out what but was hoping it wasnât a tack malfunction. Was a bit nervous watching.
Was watching CPâs SJ and the announcers were talking about how several of the first horses to go were great show jumpers blah blah. I swear anytime an announcer says anything about how good a jumper a horse is or what a great round their having - bam, the rails start to drop. I was sad to see that James Alliston couldnât make the trip over as individual - such great experience but thrilled with Duttonâs performances.

Imagine how fit and balanced you would need to be to keep going over the cross country with one stirrup for that length of time! Especially at that level.

I heard an interview with him sometime in the last few years where he spoke of how body sore the horse was afterwards, and that he felt really bad about it. The horse had.to compensate for the loss just as much or more than he did.

The thought definitely crossed my mind during the video that I hoped that horse got a LOT of carrots at the end of that day.

That totally stinks, but Iâm glad they were able to come back and win it the next year.
Yes I guess it was too good to be true that they could have won that year after such an unusual cross country ride.
