Rachel’s Riding Closet on Facebook is a great place to look for hunt coats. I’ve found nearly all of my hunt attire on eBay. If you don’t mind pull on boots, you can get some great deals (I cant live without zippers anymore 
)
As McGurk says, you can’t go wrong with formal, especially as you start out. The black coat, white shirt with a true stock tie, buff breeches and black boots are the hunting equivalent of a “little black dress”.
