The 7shots/4days apart for 28 days is what was proven to show improvement in clinical trials. So that dosing schedule is scientifically proven to show improvement in lameness scores, etc
The once a month “maintenance dose” was never studied in clinical trials. So some vets recommend it anecdotally, but the monthly maintenance shot does not have clinical trials/science behind it. It may help, it may not, but it hasn’t been clinically studied.
