Adult Eventing Camp

Ok, so I’ll try again. I LOVED Sinead and Tik’s camp this winter in Ocala!

I wasn’t sure I should go, as I wasn’t riding regularly but I did anyway:

and here is where I wrote about how great it was – warning, it is LONG!

Area II adult riders typically has a couple over the year. They often will be open to people even if you are not a member of Area II.

How do you find out about them? I’ve never heard of camps in Area II, not that I spend a lot of time researching.

email the Area II Adult Rider coordinator. It’s also usually posted on the Area II web site and FB pages. Everything is on hold now.

@bornfreenowexpensive thanks for the information. I am sure everything is on hold now, I just never knew about it before - I don’t have any fellow boarders that event really and go solo to events and never saw anything posted anywhere so I never knew about it. I will check out their website…I guess if I search for USEA Area II it will come up? I’m not really on facebook, though I could attempt to search there also.

Is the Southern Pines camp no longer around? Not Denny Emerson’s – the one that was organized by Linda Dreher?

I was just thinking, a lot of things must be on hold now… @Bens.Mom your camp experience sounds AMAZING… Now I’m wondering if it’s really realistic to go to FL for one…

We had one rider drive down from Maryland for camp this year! It was so much fun, and such a learning experience. I want to go again this year, hopefully getting to take Spider!

Check out Apple Tree South adult eventing camp in Aiken. It is run by Alison Eastman-Lawler who is based out of Hollis, NH. I went twice and had a blast. Alison does a great job with the camps. If you don’t have a horse to bring, she will find you a local horse to lease for a week. I did that both times and had good experiences. Most of the campers are around beginner novice/novice but her working students are prelim and higher. I also went to Vershire before they closed but I have to say I enjoyed Apple Tree more.

You can find more information at http://www.appletreefarm.org/ under the Aiken Programs tab. I would love to go back!
