Honestly I have a pair of tuff rider tall boots that look great. The pair I have often get confused for nice customs too, but they are a bit above your price range, however, they make another version that is only $134 at Stateline tack right now they have extra slims and there is a pretty accurate size chart on their site.

My son has those and you are right, they are nice! He has the baroque ones which were about $150. I actually found them cheapest on Amazon.

Spencergbennett: That’s so un-ethical, actually shameful. using the local tack shop (who has 1000’s tied up in inventory, pays local taxes, hires local employees), to size and style yourself then buy online elsewhere, for a little cheaper from people who have NO money invested … is just plain sleezy.
I agree - my husband did that with a saddle purchase. Picked the local tack shop guys’ brain about what to buy and then left with " i’ll think about it". I came down on him about that and we went and got the saddle at the local shop. Support your local shop if possible.

I’m a 9-9.5 foot (13" calf) and the tall/slim Ariats work for me. Having said that, they fit snuggly but not holy-crap-my-legs-are-turning-blue tight, which I know some prefer.
It’s true that what works in the old styles may not work in the new. I had a pair of tall/slim leather half chaps from Ariat that were fantastic, and when they finally fell apart, I bought another pair online. They were so huge that I could fit both hands inside them as well as my legs
I notice that Ariat does have X-slim calf widths for their current model boots. But I expect they’d be hard to find second-hand!
Have you ever thought of ProChaps? We developed a solution that fits anthropomorphic characteristics of a rider and resists to pressure points while riding. With 35 different sizes we can almost guarantee we will have a chap that fits you perfectly. Our chaps have a memory that retains the original shape over time. It consists of a combination of hybrid multi directional materials that are breathable, flexible and water repellent. Our chaps are machine washable. All products are ventilated by hundreds of perforations. Weight is reduced by 50%. It offers full protection of the riders leg. It is like a second skin.
Would love to chat more

Yup very tacky of spencergbennett.
I bought these Ovation Olympia in brown 8.5 slim for fun but they fit really well for my slim calf http://www.ovationriding.com/ovationandreg-olympia-tall-show-boot-dark-brown-469591. My show boots are the Ariat Heritage Contour. They are slim as well, but fit me well, they were pretty darn tight when I got them. I kinda like the square toe on the Ovations. And no laces. I hate cleaning the dust out of laces. The leather on the Ariat is more like glove leather, very supple and soft. The Ovations are a bit thicker and stiffer, but not so much so that it is a problem.

Yikes, I get your point but IMO this is bit extreme. You have no idea what people’s budgets are or what the mark up of the local tack shop is. I went in to my local shop in the spring for a new helmet, I intended to buy it if from them until I saw that the markup was $125 more then several other retailers. I flat out told them and they just shrugged their shoulders.
Check on Ebay. Take the measurements of your leg and then search for example Ariat tall boots… I just picked up a brand new pair of monacos in exactly my size for $150.00
If you find some on ebay you can always message the seller for the measurement you need to match to your leg.
Let’s see if I can help. Several mentioned TuffRider and within that line there are several leather types/thicknesses. The Baroque will be more of a boot that can “stand up on its own” a bit thicker, still easy break in but a thicker more traditional looking hunter boot. The Belmont and Wellesley are more of a half chap feeling boot, they are designed for easy break in and mold to the calf for a very close contact feel. The thinner the leather generally the less time you will have in them but fine reinforced italian leather is the exception there. On our site we traditional carry regular widths but many of the TuffRider boots also come in narrow which we drop ship if a customer needs them.
Mountain horse regular calf on the Sovereign runs more narrow fitting but is taller.
Hope that helps you in your search
My daughter has an 18" height by 12.5" at the widest point. I bought her a pair of Ariat Westchester (dress boots) in Tall Slim. They are perfect. She has worn them at every kind of show, from schooling to an A circuit hunter derby (one of which she won).
Hi everyone,
So – I’m back on this thread because it’s time for me to order either new tall boots or new paddock boots . . . leaning towards tall boots because I’m getting sick of boots + half chaps, rather just slip on boots, and also because my very old and beloved custom show boots probably won’t last forever.
I’m a 9.5 or 10 and my calf is 13"
AND I’m in Canada so not so many purchase/shipping options, our dollar is really low against the US dollar right now so US purchase not really an option unless it’s a great deal.
Advice welcome with thanks.
