Ahonoora has not to date been very productive as a sport horse line. I seem to recall that his first descendant appeared in eventing within the past couple of years. Which is odd, because he is just about the last Herod sire line left today in the West and is from the Dollar branch, which was VERY productive for sport horses in the past.
Sir Gaylord, on the other hand, is one of the very best lines to find. He’s got so many chasing and jumping descendants that they are just about uncountable.
Habitat was and is a very good chasing line. If crossed with Mill Reef, it’s a known nick with awesome jumping prowess. Habitat has 21 different get with FEI level sport horses descendants, about divided equally between stallions and mares. He is Lenamore’s second damsire, just to mention one event horse.

The foal is just lovely. He has a very classic Herod head and neck. I’d be standing in line to buy him if he were for sale at a reasonable price for me.
After looking at the photos again, I’d want to make sure that he has a good length and angle to his pasterns, front and back, and that his elbow is reasonably high set. The sire’s elbow looks good to me. But then I’m pastern fixated when it comes to conformation. 
I find it hard to see with a yearling is the elbow is in the right place because yearlings tend to be rather downhill for a while. His pasterns are okay but I find it hard to Judge if he is/will be level enough.

Maybe I’m blinded by red, but he looks very much like Ahonoora to me. See the photo on the Sport Horse Show Breed website.

What’s a classic Herod head and neck? Would that be a dishy face (Arab-looking) and sturdy arched neck (hard to describe, but not the typical slender TB neck)? I have a mare who has quite a bit of Dollar/Herod (6 via her 3 crosses to Tourbillon, 12 via her crosses to Teddy) and that’s what she looks like. She’s also short and compact, but not “petite” and a lovely mover.

Smallish, very well defined head, often dishy, but very little fat. Not necessarily short. Often almost looks like skin over a skull with lots of edges. If heads were legs, they would be described as dry. Necks are often high set and relatively arched. Thanks Viney. Yup, that’s pretty much what my mare’s head and neck look like (sorry I don’t have pics), with the exception of Tourbillon. She also resembles Ambiorix (at least his pic on pedigreequery) in head/neck and overall conformation, but more feminine of course. We just found out that she’s in foal to Turkowar, who has 2 crosses to Tourbillon via Crozier. Trying to concentrate those Herod bloodlines…
