Aiden update.. Posted Pictures! Must end the Aiden thread. Aiden is doing excellent. THANK YOU COTH!!! (137) 1/23

Dear Lisa,

Like so many others, I have been following this thread daily. You have been so generous to share one of the most difficult times of your life with us. I find it hard to describe the impact of Aiden’s journey on my life. I hug my children more, I find joy and peace in my daily routine and the little things just roll off my back. You, Joey and Aiden have made a difference - in so many ways.

I am already signed up as an organ donor and would like to find a way to encourage others to become organ donors. It seems to me the best way to do this is to donate to an organization dedicated to building organ donation. I did a quick search on google and came up with many groups but it was hard to judge the quality of their programs. I did find one that looked promising:

Coalition on Donation
700 North 4th Street
Richmond, VA

Do you (or anyone else!) know which organization is the most respected in organ donation? I have a specific idea in mind for raising money to donate. If you could email me privately I’ll share the details.

Many thanks,

Becky

Could someone post a link to Lisa’s webpage on Aiden? I would like to send it to family and friends so they can put a name to face and send good vibes and prayers to our specialest little boy.

I, too, have cried for the first time today after fretting over stupid things earlier.

haligator, that Buddhist prayer is soooo beautiful.

If there were anything feasible I could do for your family, Lisa, I would. I want to hug you so badly. Let our hearts do the aching for yours and let yours be filled with iron-willed strength and love.

Yes, Heidi, there is at least a TV movie, though, I think a well-done REAL movie might add to the Aiden coffers!! Let me know if you need another writer

I read your post when I checked in earlier in the midst of our Christmas chaos to make sure Aiden was continuing to do well and I couldn’t post then between the chaos and the tears but I had to come back and let you know that my whole extended family (and there are a lot of them here) keep making me to log on and check on Aiden. We all prayed last night in church that your son should grow to be a strong and happy man and that you and Joey should experience the joy of watching him. Your strength in the face of overwhelming fear, your certainty that your son will mend and your open heart are very moving.

May God keep you and your husband and your son safe in His hands until you weather this storm and stand by you always.

And to everyone else – make sure everyone you know sees the ad in the inside cover of this week’s Chronicle and bids on the stallions everyone has so generously donated cause Aiden is gonna make it and we are going to make sure he always has what he needs to stay healthy!!

With love from yet another surrogate Auntie,

Kate

Lots of hope and Prayers coming your way!

Oh what wonderful wonderful news!!

This morning was the first chance I had to check this thread since Friday (no computer at home). I have spent the entire morning reading this and haven’t gotten a single thing done at work (somethings are just more important).

At some point over the weekend I just had a feeling Aiden had received his liver. Then to read about it this morning was fantastic and so exciting. I know that there is still a long road ahead and my hopes and prayers will be with Lisa, Joey, Aiden and every one else who is so close and there.

Merry Christmas
