Lisa
I’m so glad the package arrived and you like the lion. As soon as I saw it, I knew Aiden just had to have it. It’s probably bigger than he is, but I figured he would grow into it.
Also, I wanted to let you know what a blessing it has been to be a small part of Aiden’s life and his story. Two things happened during the course of sending the lion to him that reaffirmed my faith in the goodness of people and I thought you might like to hear about them.
First, I ordered the lion on Saturday and Fedex had already made their daily run to the shop where I bought it to pick up the rest of their outgoing packages. I didn’t think the shop would be able to get the package posted until Monday. However, the sales lady that I talked to was extremely nice and very interested in Aiden and his story. As soon as she heard where the lion was going, she made a special trip to the Fedex depot to get it into the mail on Saturday. Now, all of the employees at the shop know about him and are sending their prayers. I received an email from them yesterday asking how he was and whether or not he liked his lion.
Then, after I found out that I had the wrong zip code, I was scared that Fedex would be unable to find you. I had the tracking number and kept checking its progress via the internet. It would have gotten to you on Monday, but it was put on the wrong delivery truck because of the zip code and then sent back to the main depot in Atlanta.
When I saw that it was back at the depot, I thought they would ship it all the way back to its original drop point, so I called Fedex in Atlanta. Apparently, the person who was supposed to route it back to the drop point had heard of Aiden, saw who the package was addressed to, and took it upon himself find the correct zip code and get it to the proper delivery truck.
Aiden’s story reminds me of ripples in a pond. It just keeps getting bigger and bigger, bathing everyone it touches with goodness and love. Blessings to you and your family for allowing us to be a part of it. And tell Joey that I think he would look fabulous with a lion wig. Tell him to wear it with pride (Get it. Lion. Pride. I know, very bad joke).
