The death of that brave little Standardbred has led to more repercussions: Great Britain has backed away from their Meydan sponsorship.
Clean sport indeed! And conducted with transparency so thorough the participants were evidently invisible:

The jury is still being bought… er, is still out on whether the race actually took place or not. On the bright side, if you are not really riding, you don’t need to worry about having a ringer stashed behind your Toyota.
And of course so horses were injured or died during the virtual competition
So EGB won’t be able to give away big prizes without the sponsorship. Big deal. It’s better that they were pressured by their members- as they most assuredly were - to drop the UAE sponsorship than to risk their image be tarred and feathered by the ire of the British public for publicaly parading arm in arm with the scum…for money.
Seems Money doesn’t always talk when outrage is more vocal.
money did talk for egb but it seems that the events after their decision to go with the sponsorship just made it untenable (SC Bundy and then the FEI announcement)They didnt give it up lightly and many members are aware of that. With more and more dirt being uncovered I expect the EGB Board is relieved that they pulled out when they did - not a moment too soon!
