Digital thermometers are cheap and easy to get, I recommend getting one and taking his temp. At a minimum you’ll have it for next time. These symptoms were similar to my horse when he had EHV. Just kind of off his feed and looking off but also had a temperature. He could be fighting a virus and taking his temp regularly (twice a day) if he’s not feeling well will help track that.
