I have A 30 yr old (small) blue one. Still works great. I only use it after a real curry.
The only issue with it is the horse-digesting noise it makes when the cord gets coiled back in. The vacuum noise is fine, the cord is terrifying, so be careful with it. You can easily get new parts, keep eyes peeled for used ones - often sitting around in the corner of barns.
If you are going to go with the blower, I second the rec above to be sure it doesn’t blow dust in animal eyes (inc. people)
