One of my favorite names is for a son of Stage Door Johnny–Out You Go named Out Door Johnny :D[/QUOTE]

Then there’s Native Dancer: Polynesian-Geisha. And I actually like my guy’s name, Lucky To Cope (sounds terrible, until you realize he’s by Lucky Lionel out of Copenqueen. And true to the track superstition about negative names being good, he was vastly more successful than his half-sister She Sure Can Cope.)

Some of this reminds me of the QH Impressive story. He was breeding into his early 20s, so people thought. I knew a worker from the farm who knew that he had two sons being used for all the breeding. According to her, he was sterile before he was sold. This turned out to be very true. I believe that since then ( this was early 90s), it was proved that his last foals were not a DNA match.
The owner apparently spent far too much money buying an elderly stallion and a fancy breeding farm. He was desperate and resorted to this.

Not a new issue- has happened in American Saddlebreds as well as TWHs, that I have heard of.

So happy to hear folks enjoying our book. You do your best tell a compelling story, but there’s no way to know how it’s playing for people outside of the all too rare amazon review
