Linda,
Okay, now you guys have my BO’s attention. She’s a died-in-the-wool “foundation Morgan” woman who glances somewhat askance at Saddlebreds. She finds them a fine breed, but don’t be crossing them with her Morgans is sort of the thing…

But this Grand Prix thing, plus Harry in the USDF Connection, well… you’ve got her now~

She asked this morning if Harry is coming to Devon in September? Are ya? Please-please-please?! We’ll be there cheering him on![/QUOTE]

Thanks everyone for the wonderful comments. We need one more score of 64% or higher and we will definately consider going to Devon.

As soon as I get the video in the mail, I’ll get some video on YouTube.

Awesome, I can’t wait!

Really big congrats! I love saddlebreds. When I was little my dad worked with a woman who had them in Menlo Park. She’d send him home with her older magazines so that I could drool over horses as I was obsessed and the closest I got to a horse was my Breyer’s. Then when I was in college I took care of an older show mare for a couple of years even getting her back to being ridden. So, when I found out about a Saddlebred/Friesian cross bred down the road from me, I had to buy it! She hasn’t disappointed! Upright, uphill, lots of presence and show, but all at the disposal of the rider with a tremendous work ethic.

I’ve pondered quite seriously breeding her to a full saddlebred. Of course most people think I’m nuts (which I probably am), but if I didn’t really need to sell her, I probably would.

…and Harry is awesome!

Congratulations!!

CONGRADULATIONS:yes::yes:

Congratulations!!!

I’m headed to a ranch tomorrow to look at some ASBs as a prospect. My coach is supportive, but friends think I’ve lost my mind

That’s OK, just go with it, and if anyone calls you crazy quote my sig line

I am also a big saddlebred fan, I hope to own one some day (or a cross at least).

Growing up as an eventer, I never considered a saddlebred.

A few years ago I found my self riding horses for a lady who bought cheap horses, put some training on them, and upgraded them.

For $400 we got a 16.2 palomino saddlebred, who had sent the last trainer who came out and tried him “to the hospital.”

After some chiro work, he was the BEST horse, SOOO SWEET, tried so hard, I just fell in love with his personality. Not to mention he was SO PRETTY. I usually like “plain bays” but he was gorgeous. He opened my eyes to the breed, and since I have seen many I have liked.

Also, back in the 50’s, my mother’s 4ft+ jumper was a saddlebred.

Congrats Linda (and Chrissa!), didn’t catch the test, but I’m sure I’ll see more at KDA!

Kelly I like your sig. Who said that?

So we went, we looked, and I’m slightly in love…

Maybe it was just this breeder (LindaC, I’m the one who emailed you from the PNW, not realizing who I was emailing!), but these guys have the brains.

We took some pics, but there’s one that’s on my list of horses to go back and take a look at. My WB Lover friend even approved.
