Amerigo saddles? Childeric?
My trainer rides her in a Childeric M (I believe) that fits her beautifully, which is one reason I want to make sure to try her in one that fits me.

Just so many brands!!!
I tried a TON of saddles before getting my Childeric M and I love, love, love it. It fits me amazingly well, the balance is incredible and it fits both my QH and TB really well too

I LOVE my Childeric!

Unfortunately, my thigh is too long for it.

Any experts able to decode this and tell me what my next Childeric needs to be in order to accommodate a longer thigh?

It says “2 1/2 FM 17”, followed by what I assume is a serial number. (Three digits, followed by 2 digits, underneath “AO”.)

The seat fits my butt well, but I could arguably go up a half size for the seat if need be.

I have an Amerigo and it is a very nice saddle - I’d buy another if the right fit for horse and me came along. No experience with Childeric, but given the good reviews here, I wouldn’t hesitate to buy one if (again) right fit for me and horse.

You have a 17" standard flap FM model. You could go up in seat size and/or flap size (forward or long or long-forward) from there for a better fit.

You would probably do well with a 3A (forward and slightly long) flap, and/or a 17.5 seat. The 2.5 is the standard flap

I rode in a childeric and it is like a cloud. But like any other french saddle, foam flocked and not adjustable.

Amerigos are fantastic saddles for those that like the french feel of saddle but with the adjustability of a english-made saddle. They can be adjusted by a fitter and are wool flocked to have maximum fit for your horse! I almost bought one, but unfortunately I found the tree too banana shaped for my horse’s back! ):

I rode in my trainer’s Childeric this afternoon and liked it a lot! It was a little too small but since the seat was a little flatter than my Devoucoux it actually didn’t feel too bad. I liked the balance and the feel of it but it was a little less “sticky” than my Devoucoux and definitely less cushy in the seat. Her’s is quite old and pretty slick, though, so I think that might be an easy fix in a newer model.

I’m hoping that I’ll have some more to ride in soon!
