Many moons ago, I had a potty-mouthed instructor who liked to say that “All King Edward’s Horses Can Make Big Farts.”
All King Edward’s Very Strong Horses Carry Many Really Big Peacock Feathers
Huh?
its AKVESH…
NOT AKEVSH…
Could explain some of my issues with dressage. In truth I never really learned the letters all that well, though I did know the type of location for most—end of ring, half way down long side, part of a short diagonal.
All King Vincent Emanuel’s Strong Horses Carry Many Really Big Peacock Feathers.
I looked at one of the responses above and tried to remember the mnemonic based off the wrong sequence. My bad.
But the feathers are key.
Still not quite right. R is only on one side - opposite S.
This mnemonic was on a poster in a dressage/combined training barn I lessoned at way back in the 80’s.

I learned All King Victor Edward’s Show Horses Can Make Really Big Purple Fences.
Mine is: All King Victor’s Expensive Show Horses Can Manage Really Big Purple Fences. Works for me.
I learned it as All King Edward’s Horses Call Me Bloody Fool.
I knew someone who used All Kinky Elephants Hate Country Music But Fred (I added the center line) Does Love eXcellence In Groove.
I did expand it to include RSVP but I’ve forgotten exactly how.
Before that I used All Day Long X Is Ground Centre for the centre line, and either King Edward or A Fat Bay Mare.
