An Attire Question, please....

I have to admit…I like them! But then again, I do have a thing for bling, and I’m just getting too old to give a fig about what others think of my fashion sense (or LACK thereof).

But I would never dream of wearing them in the hunt field, or at a rated show. A schooling show…perhaps. A trail ride–DEFINITELY!

I should feel ashamed and embarrassed for liking them, but I don’t. I can’t even muster up the dignity to feel sheepish about it!

You’re all so right, I suppose. Best to play it safe, and stick with boots that are a smidge more discreet, like these tasteful specimins:

Subtle, yet ostantatious.

Watery glen - didn’t your mother always warn you to wear clean undies?!

Yup…tasteful!

Uh yeah! But she also told me to wear white cotton granny panties too! And some other things…

OK so I admit; I kinda like these…I could see them in a dressage ring for sure. Lets send them over to the DQ’s and get THEIR feedback on their board. . I dare ya! They’d match the rhinestone stirrup irons really well don’tyathink!?
On the down side; that bling would draw attention to our foxhunting big calves…big calves that are pure muscle of course!

Uh - shapely, I think SHAPELY is the word you meant to use, not big, right?

Actually, the vertical versus horizontal pin arguments have been going on for as long as I’ve been hunting, at least. I was taught- horizontal, period, whether amateur or professional.[QUOTE]

But if I do that my fox head is then placed SIDEWAYS, like he is napping, can’t have him doing that!

And if the reply is to use a plain pin, well, the offending pin was purchased, where else? ENGLAND

So that tells me some Brits have been pinning their stock pins vertically all these many years!

Me thinks some investigating is in order!

Ah, well, MY fox head is awake and alert when the pin is horizontal! And he came from Ireland, a thank-you some years back from someone who borrowed my scarlet coat for a season of whipping in. But a huntsman I whipped in to, who spent some time in Ireland, always put her plain pin vertical.

I think JSwan has it right- let’s just mess with people.
