And Coreene contemplates showing. Western.

OH, I CAN’T WAIT TO SEE THE PICTURES!!!

Know who Jack Benny is, know what a Jack Benny class is. Am even qualified, myself.

Sorry that Oliver won’t make the journey, but you, my dear, will have a blast!

(note–this is a good excuse to get one of those frosty pastel Troxel helmets to match the bling. Just sayin’)

Vineyridge, yes maybe 25% of the western bling outfits are very testeful and elegant.

Correne, a Congress trip is now a must for you. My friends already have reservations for this Oct. I am kinda sorta thinking about joining them.

I think you could rock it !
get the proper stuff so you are not “so last year”
in other words do not get what the
Paint people are wearing !! Go straight
up Congress or World Show AQHA for your fashion cues

So sorry, I must tastefully disagree, even “last year’s stuff” is still in style- I saw quite a few outfits worn at AQHYA World that were worn last year too. :eek:Around here us paint people wear what the QH people wear. And Coreene will be riding a very loud paint, and undoubtably will look fabulous in the shirt she has chosen. :yes:It’s a small local benefit show, not Congress.

As a wee aside, Coreene be wearing a helmet with this shirt. So the shirt is black. There is no way, after nearly dying in a helmetless fall 15 years ago + resulting big time head injury (and still suffering a daily battle with resulting vertigo and other stuff), that I will ride without a helmet.

But hey! It’s a fun fundraiser! I am sure I will not be the only Jacqueline Benny sporting a Charles Owen!

For the uninitiated, a Jack Benny class is for those of the 39 And Up persuasion.

Good for you!! That is awesome - cannot wait to see pics!

Plumcreek, I know it was a typo, but picturing a [B]testeful [B]outfit…my eyes!!! Then again, if you’re going to have a ball…you might as well do it in style!
And Coreene, dahlink, you MUST go all.the.way. with a blingy bridle, reins and breastplate! And a blingy saddle blanket! I am sure that Aunt Esther would agree!!!
Dee

Coreene-they do make a helmet shaped like a stetson. The kids at the Imus Ranch for Kids with Cancer in New Mexico ride with the helmets. They are approved too I think. Troxel makes them, and they have one with fringe on it too.

Yeah, visions do come to mind! Interesting typo, though. Think I’ll leave it up.

There are Jack Benny classes for the youngsters, then there is the Fogey Show (over 50) for the rest of us. Friend and I are driving down to Amarillo, TX, to scope out the Fogey Show (Select AQHA World) over Labor Day.

Well, I stand corrected, apparently to ride in a velvet helmet would be completely unacceptable, so good thing I have helmets that are not velvet.

I have narrowed it down to two shirts, and I will post pix tomorrow. Remember, as much as I would love to blow a huge wad of $$$$$$ on a pimparella rail shirt, black chaps etc., in reality it will be a black shirt with jeans. That does not cost more than $50 by the time it gets to my house (thank you, eBay and closeouts). But I will wear black jeans. Which, of course, I do not own yet. And I did have a black belt but I gave it to a dear BBer, so I found a brown one this morning but am digging for another black one in the recesses of my closet.

And then have to get a big ass buckle for it, of course.

Coreene…here ya go for western head wear:

Or you can go with one of these:

Or to really stand out:

For the big belly guard belt buckle though…I think the rule is you only wear one if you win one.

However, these look like fun. Some come with LED lights!

And no mention of chaps . . . with fringe? I loff mine

You know, if you really enjoy yourself you may just have to get a really pimped out outfit and show western a little more since you do have a pimp saddle…

Just think, you can be like me, the “I’m only ever going to ride english person” who in a year’s time now has a closet full of rail shirts, showmanship pants, chaps, and a few nice big buckles, and loffs da bling:winkgrin::lol:

stuff the stetson over your hat haha go coreene lol

I just can’t help myself - this is one of my fav belts ever - its shown here in brown, but comes in black. Big enough buckle, but not the kind you really should have won!

But whatever you wear, pictures are mandatory!

Coreene-the troxel might be good for summer riding also, not just western. The wide brim would be a good sunshade also. But, I do love that you are emphasizing safety first. Plus, I bet they make really blinged out hatbands to fit too.

Coreene! Go all out. Buy yourself one of those approved skull cap thingies Jockeys and some eventers ( ) wear and then get yourself a cowboy hat that fits over it.

You must fluff out your hair all big, too.

Oh, lordy, GLITTER YOUR BIG HAIR!!!

Please, please?

Mine have fringe AND buckstitching AND my initials (well, okay, maiden initials since I’ve had them since high school).

Tamara, two words: “I WANT”

Is that a Dutch thing?
Going Western, of course…

enabling

Yeehaw!
