Hi can you PM me E’s contact as well? thank you!
I had an appointment today with one of the communicators mentioned above and it was very interesting!
I definitely feel like she was channeling my daughters horse and said some things I really reflect his personality and the way he thinks about himself (as noted in general by the way he behaves ) She also mentioned some specific things that have been on-going concerns, such as discomfort on the right side of his withers, which has been noted by our body worker and that his saddle fit has been an issue, noting the new saddle fit much better than the old “lighter colored” one (the old one was a gold butet). There were other things that were pretty spot on.
And finally, this makes me a little teary, that he’s trying his best to make my daughter feel better because she’s so sad and worried that he can’t. For background, my daughter’s soul dog had to be suddenly PTS a few weeks ago and she has been inconsolable since then but this info is definitely not something anyone outside the family/friend group would know.
I’m not a huge believer and sort of do these types of things for fun, but I do think this AC had very accurate things to report.
@BroncoMo, thank you for the recommendation of Sky Heartsong. We talked w my horse this morning and it was a wonderful experience. (We also spoke w my dog.)
He described his fall in the hospital as though he was disoriented and very weak from lack of nutrition. They tried to move him and he slipped, lost his balance and fell, then scrambled to get back to his feet. I believe this 100%-when we took him home from the hospital, I was afraid he was too weak to stand in the trailer. He looked starved.
The result is that he feels something in the base of his neck high up through his shoulder, which is exactly what his laser person and I think, that doesn’t allow him to bend his knee backward. (No, I did not tell her.). His vets are still focused on his knee, so I’m not sure how to handle this except to keep going w the laser which he likes.
He described his initial surgeon perfectly to her.
He also talked about his career as a show hunter (he is a very good hunter) - he said he was always perfect and made his riders look better than they are:grinning:. I always said that about him w respect to me. The last couple of years we were showing, I had a professional ride him because my neck is so bad. She said she had developed a reputation for teaching lead changes, as his are really beautiful. He did those the day I brought him home from the track. However, her own horse doesn’t have a lead change:woman_shrugging:t3:.
He also knew how difficult his surgery was and that we were very fortunate to have the second fabulous surgeon scrub in.
He talked about his farrier, too, and how much he like and appreciates him. It was just a fabulous experience and I will use her again.
Just adding on…she asked me how old he is and was shocked when I told her. She said he has a much younger body. She also said he’s learned to work around his left leg… my hope/prayer is that it will improve - much like frozen shoulder.
I’m so glad you had a great existence and got some answers.
As you know, neck issues can cause front end lameness. Maybe you can mention to the vets that they should look into his neck “just in case” that’s what’s causing the problem with his leg?
Thank you for the recommendation, I just had a call with Nancy this past week and she was wonderful! She was immediately able to identify the issue that I’d been worried about, namely nebulous hind end issues and vague movement changes.
She said he kept showing a cross canter and the feeling of being disorganized behind, and transient back pain, which 100% tracks with what I’ve been suspecting and feeling.
He was very adamant that he knows how to change leads and wants to do it, he just can’t get his rear end together because his hips are “crooked”. He also was very insistent that he can do more than I’m asking and she said he kept repeating “I can go A LOT faster”.
He also mentioned that he’s been at this barn for a long time (since he came off the track at 5) and was generally happy, but that it’s gotten a lot “brighter” lately. She didn’t know if he meant lighting or environment, but there was a management change recently that resulted in a huge clean up, more turnout, and a generally lighter mood so I’m leaning that direction.
Despite my generally skepticism, overall I was very impressed and will definitely be in contact with her in the future!
You may want to look into PEMF for him. It helped my old guy’s shoulder when he was not able to bring his leg back.
Can you talk more about this?? The shoulder in particular? I did use a Bemer but had way more response from the laser and red lights.
Can someone PM me E’s info and Joanna’s? Please, pretty please.
I will try this again. I did ask about his neck early on?; we did radiograph it and saw nothing unusual/concerning. That said, one can’t see nerve/muscle damage so I will ask again. Thank you.
Oh I missed that you had already x-rayed it.
I think I will need info, too, because I am tired of these cats being bitchy to each other. Does anyone know if either is better with cats?
E’s info was actually posted above (I missed that when I commented myself). Silent Voices Animal Communication.
If you do it, let me know what you think. I am still a bit too skeptical to shell out the money, as it’s a bit more than I was expecting.
I’m not sure I ever posted it, actually. And I do appreciate that you mentioned it again. I wish I could invite everyone who has helped me here for dinner to say thank you. I’d have it catered….I’m a miserable cook.
I think it was 2 or 3 years ago, after my ride partner and I found ourselves following the wrong markers and found ourselves going up “Mount Misery”, which is a dirt bike trail, and lives up to it’s name.
My guy was very sore afterwards (even though I hand walked him for a good part of it). IIRC he was bad for the trimmer or something too, which he never is. I had the body worker out and Boomer couldn’t bring his LF leg backwards. He massaged and used the MagnaPulse machine on it, and voila, pony can swing his leg again.
Pony is now retired but his shoulders often get tight because his hocks are bad so he pulls instead of pushes. It was just that one time that he was THAT bad though.
I wish many of us were closer, I’d love to do dinner!
Me too!! We could all toast Seven and wish him well.
I’m so glad you had a positive experience and have some clarity on what happened at the hospital. Hopefully, the information Seven was able to share with you will help your team figure out how best to help him!
When you spoke with Sky, how did you phrase your questions as to not give too much away? I didn’t really ask much when I had my appointment (not with Sky), so now I’m thinking I didn’t get as much as I could have
With the two I’ve done, I asked very generally about pain and they indicated non-specific issues mostly. The one did indicate a very specific sore hock, and the opposing shoulder which was 100% accurate. When I didn’t totally get an answer on an area that I knew was a problem, I asked specifically about those areas. She did come back with a bit more information on those body parts, which is where one could become more skeptical since I had to clue her in a bit more specifically. But tied in with all the other pieces of information that she was able to gather, it painted a more complete picture for me. This is where she told me that sometimes if an animal lives with pain for a long time, it just becomes part of life and they don’t cue her in on it because it’s not new.
What got me the most was a bit more of the emotional aspect. The one, who is still with us today, indicated that he had never been loved before me and that because of the quality of care he was receiving, he knew that he was loved. But also scared that I would abandon him and he’d end back up in a bad situation again. The second one who’s physical condition simply wouldn’t allow him to perform up to expectation, despite him trying his hardest, indicated that he felt like a failure when I pulled him from training. Cue the water works.
There were also light hearted moments. The one who is still with us is a very flamboyant and eccentric boy. Flashy, aesthetically pleasing to look at. And he knows it. He indicated that he KNOWS he’s fancy and that “she REALLY likes me” (me being “she”). That made me giggle quite a bit because it absolutely matches his personality.
Anyone who tries it, just keep an open mind without major expectations either way. You may not learn anything new, it may put a few pieces of the puzzle together and allow you to make better decisions. Nothing about it is pragmatic, but sometimes you have to go with your intuition in these situations. And animal communication can be just one more tool in the decision making process.
