Another Kitten! COTH Energy Again! Cuteness Video Added!

Names!

So, I like Smitten (was my original idea).

However, my 12 year old granddaughter told me that the kitten looks like she has a penis on her face  I am tempted to name her after my granddaughter whose name is Lily just because of that! And I do like the name

There was also a book I read eons ago, animal stories (or cat stories, can’t remember) that the people named a stray cat Temporary. Only Temporary stayed. I kinda like that, too!

Another thought on how she may have gotten here - you can see that I’ve converted my front porch into a catio from the road. I wonder if someone dropped her off. It would be strange for a mom cat to be moving a litter and leave her meowing outside for three days and not come back for her. She’s super friendly and a purring machine, obviously handled.

What a pretty little face. She is going to be such a lovely little girl. Poor thing probably had not eaten for 3 days. I doubt the mother lost her - she was likely dumped like my two new floofballs. Somebody was driving around looking for a place to dump and your house looked like a good spot. My dumpees were probably a week or so older but I dosed them with a small dose of Revolution Plus and that took care of the fleas and ticks (if they had any). I don’t think they were handled as much as your baby and a bath would not have been possible. And I wanted to get those fleas gone ASAP.

You know you won’t get anything done because she is going to want to cuddle in your lap to take her naps now that her tummy is full.

Yes it’s hard to not cuddle with her…except she can fill a room with her farts!! WHEW!

Weighed in at 1.75oz on a digital scale when she sat for a second. Weight may vary LOL. Tooth check ages her between 4 and 5 weeks.

I hope there were not any siblings that met a sad ending. Have not seen or heard any.

Maybe the umm… indigestion is due to her only nursing from the mother cat and never eating cat food before. So it will take a little while for her gut to adjust to different proteins. Especially if she is that young.

Our beloved stray cat we named Visitor, but he became a Resident. We had him for 9 years and he was the Best Cat Ever.

(Yes, I know so many cats have been named this), but Mittens would be a cute twist on Smitten.

I see you have the latest in summer accessories - a kitten!! She is so charming - I mean, that little face and her bright little eyes. She was be a pretty cat when she grows up. She looks very girly. And needs a pink ribbon collar. Yesh.

Oh lord baby farts are the worst. When my Baler was teeny he could clear a room. It goes away after awhile but  until then.

I think you should call her Sharpie! She’s not going anywhere

She’s negative for both FIV and Feluk! Yeah!

(The benefits of volunteering at a shelter, and the right timing of the director happening to be in this afternoon to test her).

Her blood was a little watery looking, now thinking she’s anemic.

FIP is not allowed!

At that age, if she had fleas, she’s probably a little anemic.

I like Smitten, but I also like Swiftie… and I had a cat named Sonic, so that’s also a great name.

Almost forgot - actually 1.60 lbs

And my other kitten (now 4 years!) had bad gas, too. Took a few months to get settled in. I am going to feed her Fresh Pet (I have two elderly cats on it now) to help move things along.

Smitty (name for the kitty) could also be a nice option

Oh ! I know you are extremely lucky with many cats and kittens ~ I was referring to “the lucky three” as being ~ the kitten, you and your husband ~

Bless you for all your cat kindness ~

Awh! Thanks!

I am just glad she is negative with the Feluk - I have too many cats to deal with it. The rescue has volunteers that take on those kittens/cats for their lives as short as it may be.

I am glad she is FeLuk negative. But I don’t think FeLuk postive is the calamity some of you suggest.

Back in the 90s we had 2 FeLuk positive cats and 4 negative cats. We kept them separate for a while (less than a year), but after that they lived together (we vaccinated all the negative cats).

The positive cats lived (with no health issues) for 6 years, when they died within a month of each other, with no particular drama. (Probably a bug that the oher cats were able to fight off.) The negative cats remained negative, and had no related health issues.

I wouldn’t ACTIVELY seek out a positive cat, but if one turned up in my life I would not reject it for that reason.

When I got my last one she much older (5 mos) but she could also be quite the chemical factory. The good news is that she grew out of it. Who knew such a little thing had the ability to clear a room! The vet told us to keep her on the same cat food and not switch it around a lot. I’m guessing an immature digestive system couldn’t handle variety.

She is sooooo cute!

So my bathroom door is an antique door with a grate on top for airflow as it’s a small bathroom (just me and my hubby, when I have people over I do cover it).

This is where Smitten (as in Smitten the Kitten from the Mitten LOL!) is right now. When she is loose, she sits and waits for us to get her.

(Those are 6" tiles for size)

She’s on some extra calories as she was starting to fade a bit from being weaned too early. She’s picking up rapidly and is fast to get out and roam around the house. We have to be super careful not to step on her as she loves to be underfoot right next to us!
