I think they had the vet make a statement saying otherwise.
I think we have the answer
Curious where exactly you saw that photo?
It doesnāt look anything like any of the photos RRRR has shared of Rocky.
It looks like a really bad AI rendition.
Not getting into the right or wrong of how RRRR has/is handling Rockyās situation, but they have NEVER claimed to be even thinking of any type of a prothesis.
They have repeatedly stated that he is NOT a suitable candidate for any kind of prosthetic.
It is on their instagram, reposted from their tiktok. Although I think they may have deleted it from tiktok- the commenters there are savage (or less well curated) than those on instagram and facebook.
I kind of agree with this. The head/neck almost appear to be from a different photo; even the pixelations look different to me.
That said, I think this baby is on borrowed time, regardless.
Hereās another photo that was up before the last one posted here. I think I pulled this from Reddit
They have posted multiple times about a āfirst of its kindā brace to support the front leg and keep it from collapsing further. Perhaps that is where the confusion is. However, they seem to be in āfundraisingā stage which is different compared to Seven who didnāt have to wait for money to be raised for his braces and may be part of the reason why Seven has maintained for so long.
Speaking of AI⦠that drawing is definitely sus lol
It is from their page on instagram @Alex_and_Bodie_s_Mom @mommy_peanut
Itās so disturbing you would think it was AI.
Iām not sure what you want.
The original Brace was pictured June 30. This is a rendering of a T shirt they were fundraising with. I posted it because it was the first example to show people are mixing up ābraceā with āentire prosthetic leg.ā
How many pressure sores can you count? I can count many.
Well, bless your pea picking little heart.
If you would bother to read for context, I didnāt say I thought it was AI. I said it looks like it was created from two different photos. Thatās Photoshop, not AI.
That was an oddly defensive response. AI was mentioned and you thought the pic was photoshopped so I provided the link. I hope your day gets better.
You said you thought it was disturbing that I thought it was AI.
You attacked me, not the other way around.
āYouā was spoken as a general term meaning the masses. Lord help you if you think that was an attack lol
Iām sorry, but that is the sort of birth that calls for āinstant decision timeā before the poor foal even takes a breath. Anything else is plain cruelty.
The other front leg never developed at all correct? I would guess that the existing front leg is also not developing past birth,. Itās also possible that the joints and growth plates are being crushed due to the weight but it looks like itās simply never grown at all so my guess is that it was never going to develop.
They need to euthanize this foal.
A friend of mine had a 3-legged horse - well, 3 1/2 legs where she lost the lower 1/2 of one of her rear legs after a dog attack. She was 15 years old when it happened. The vet reckoned that keeping the 1/2 leg was probably what saved her as she moved the leg as if it was there.
ALL of the pain indicators that we all know were simply not there in this mare. She just dealt with it. Low HR, no squishing of the face, no additional adrenaline in her blood stream etc.
Yes, her management had to change - she was kept on the flat in smaller paddocks, my friend learned equine physio & massage for daily treatment , she had to go for hand-walks and was retired from riding obviously. To be frank, other than a slight hitch in her walk, you had to look for the injury.
The mare lived another 5 years like this and died from cancer.
Man, that horse was TOUGH and known to be - my friend and the vet said that they would keep fighting while she was fighting. A lot of people railed on them saying PTS - I was one of them and I would be one again as I do not think that this is viable for most, if not āall-1ā horses!!!
I was replying to the people (who were not people on COTH) that said that they knew of 3 legged horses that were born with 3 legs and lived to maturity. I highly doubt it.
A foal canāt develop properly on 3 legs, whereas a mature horse such as the one you mention, being fully grown and functional, could adapt for awhile.
