Another where to sell saddle thread

I could swear that I just saw this question posted, but when I did a search did not find current postings. Anything I found had recommendations that were a few years old, or links got me the dreaded “404 Error”.

I have a collection of pretty nice dressage saddles acquired thru the years that I want to send on. When I call Hobson’s Choice, no one answers…so this doesn’t give me warm fuzzier.

I have bought new from Hobson’s Choice and have dealt with Trumbull Mountain, Ricks, Buck’s County Saddlery, Maryland Saddlery. Rick’s inventory of dressage saddles is way down, so didn’t know if they were shifting their market to H/J.

I know a lot of the “names” for places to consign, but things/people change over time and was wondering for current recommendations from the all-wise COTH.

I don’t know where you are or what type of saddles you have - but I love love love working with DFW Tack Exchange: http://www.dfwtackexchange.com/.

She has a great network and my stuff sold FAST and for a good amount of money. Easy to work with, too.

Are you on Facebook? There’s probably a page for your area to sell horse tack. Stuff seems to sell pretty quickly on the one in my area.

I had good luck with Pelham Saddlery, but others are good also.

I am not sure used tack is moving that good any more, other than good and cheap.
Buyers are becoming better educated and looking for bargains only.

FWIW, read this thread about one of the stores on your list.

Thanks! I knew there were more current reviews out there, but obviously the search utility on COTH is not running on google algorithms.

If I’m going to send some expensive saddles to consign, I just want to hear about current experiences and to get a heads up on the good/bad/ugly.

Equestrian Imports sells used they do a lot of dressage so if you’re selling dressage saddles would be worth a call. Equus Now, Pelham are both good, though I think Equus Now is more H/J. I sold a dressage saddle with The Farm House Tack, actually sold very quickly and they priced it really well.

I have bought several saddles off of eBay and have loved all of them and the prices. Bought from USA and from europe with no problems at all.

I bought one nice saddle that was consigned to a local tack shop also.
