I see Belgian Malinois, their tails are quite curly as puppies. Possibly even King cross in there somewhere, I don’t see Pommeranian though.
Keeshound/Duck Tolling retriever.
Norwegian Buhhund, Akita (too small for one) shibu inu… (a previous poster had these listed).
but I cheated by using the abc “dogs with curly tails https://www.akc.org/expert-advice/lifestyle/13-dogs-with-curly-tails/
She is most likely several generations of a mixed breed. It makes me laugh when people describe a dog like her as something that has been born from 2 purebreds.
.
Happy to keep you “experts” amused. This is a bit of fun, why piss on it ?
Today’s thought is Golden Retriever & Smooth Fox Terrier
Not saying it’s a cross of purebreds! Just that today I think those might be in the mix, up front somewhere.
There is a whole big genetic explanation of how the chromosomes determine with genes will be expressed, and which not, out of a collection from diverse sources, accumulated through generations. Maybe I said that correctly. Some things kind of disappear into the dilution, and some things stand out. I gather it’s not a mathematical formula.
Which makes this dog a special, lovely and unique creature.
First, she’s a great looking pup!! Second, I DNA’d my dog - she came back: 25% shepherd, 1/8 each - boxer, lab, chow, staffordshire terrier and 25% “Other”. So Heinz 57 she is, lol. Weighs just under 50 lbs. And the tail has grown another 6 inches of hair since this was taken. So a perfect mix of most of the domestic dog breeds known to the neighborhoods of the United States.
25% Other - that’s awesome!
Thanks for the update!
A Bitsa !
She hasn’t grown a whole lot in 4 months but boy is she a spitfire and fearless. Great watchdog! She is a rodent and squirrel lover for sure. I wouldn’t trade her for anything!
What a beautiful, well-cared-for, happy dog! <3
She is beautiful! I have a rescue pup and I never tire of trying to figure out what breeds combined to generate my goofy toddler.
Yours strikes me as an Aussie mixed with something smaller, let’s say Papillon just for kicks
The color is right, but the tail is all wrong. She reminds me of the squirrels she is obsessed with chasing. She actually has grown in height quite a bit and is about as tall as our mini Aussie-- although not as broad body wise. She has filled out , carrying decent weight and her ribs and hip bones are a thing of the past. She is a very active dog and I still have no idea what she might be !!
She is darling looking. I think she’s a mix of 4-5 breeds. Embark just notified me their breed dna test is on sale this weekend for $97. so maybe that’s the route to go if you really want to know. I still think there’s some shepherd in there.
Thank god she landed in such a wonderful home. Sounds like a good match! <3
