i recently went through and am still going through a lot of leg/foot problems with my gelding. I started using the BOT standing wraps over night and then the stall bell boots and recently purchased the stall sheet. i think it helps as he is coming up on 16 and with correct farrier and vet work he’s starting to improve I am a big believer in standing wraps and the BOT brand continues to amaze me. I plan on buying the exercise boots as he starts to go back into work. Every horse is different but I’m a believer in the technology.
I know this is a SUPER old thread (neither of my horses were even conceived when it was created ) but instead of creating another thread, I figured I could just bump this one back up, especially because BOT is so popular now and I just ordered my first BOT (quickwraps) last night.
I can’t even remember if I posted on this thread earlier, but yes, I use the wraps and the sheet, and I believe they are effective.
I’ve posted on BoT threads before, but I’ll chime in here. I have the human back brace and I like it. It’s not a miracle, but the combination of the material and the light support keeps me comfortable. I’ve been using the Quick Wraps recently on Wizard’s hind legs, but he somehow has learned how to shimmy out of them. His legs looked great until he learned his new trick! Maybe they’re too slippery with a partially clipped leg?
And for what it’s worth, my cat LOVES the BoT fleece blanket.
Wearing my BOT t shirt right now. When I 'm on the road working, I live in it. I can tell a real difference in how still and sore I am. My elderly grandma also takes less of her pain meds on the days she wears the one I got for her.
I bought the BOT Quick Wraps to use on my gelding’s hind legs. I did not like them, in comparison to traditional standing wraps. I found them to be bulky and I couldn’t get an even, correct fit. My gelding has windpuffs above his hind fetlock - the quick wraps were gappy above his fetlock, no matter how many adjustments I tried. I never even ended up using them, after being unhappy with the fit.
I ended up re-selling them online and going back to regular old standing wraps. For my specific use, I wasn’t satisfied.
I bought the knee brace for myself, figured it was a small enough bet to lose if it did not work. Won that bet big time, products work very well, but yes start off slowly.
