Cactuskate: Temecula is (sort of) my neck of the woods. The Anne K. clinic last year was… interesting. I did not ride in it as it was right after the GM clinic. But here’s my fly-on-the-wall report from folks who did attend/ride: She really worked on the flat a lot. She expected solid, basic flatwork to be mastered before going on to any amount of jumping (amen to that) and some of the riders, who are doing lower level jumper stuff out here, couldn’t do the flatwork precisely. It was stuff like cantering over poles, or trotting little fences and halting in a straight line. It was obvious that Anne was a bit frustrated. Would I ride in one of her clinics? Absolutely. I admire her as a rider and as a good sportswoman.

We’re coming back 12/30 unfortunately!! I’m sure you’ll have as great a time as we do - will have to check out LeRua’s…
I see where Anne Kursinski is coming to Temecula, CA in December. Has anyone attended one of her clinics? I had just purchased her book and was soaking it up like a sponge. Lokks like it would be worth the trip for me.
Any insight?
Since “Elliot” is a Starman baby, I would love to take a clinic from Anne Kursinski.
But alas, we are still a ways from being good enough to take one:-(
Elliot was very good to me today in our lesson that was mainly doing leg yields over cavaletti.
I love my new horse soooo much!!!
I could become gushy easily, haha.
I have been reading Anne Kursinski’s book, and she does emphasis flat work.
Good advise to anyone taking a clinic, is to read anything written by the clinician before hand.
When I took a GM clinic a million years ago, reading the book helped a lot.
Is there some list that shows where Anne is doing clinics?
I would love to go audit one. If there is one in my area.
I have done a Anne Kursinski clinic - I learned a ton from it. She knows her stuff, and calls 'em as she see’s 'em. She seemed to be able to tell where each rider’s limit was, and pushed that limit (in a good way!) She can be a little quick to criticize, but that was OK with me, I was paying her to teach me, not to be my friend!
