No. I used it with good results as well. I did not wrap it. Every other day, If I remember.

My young horse popped one in July- it was HUGE! He was on restricted turnout to a small paddock at the time, so I’m not sure how he did it.
After reading all about Splintex and worrying that it would never go away… I just did nothing… and five months later there is hardly any sign of it!! I can’t really believe it- his splint was at least the size of an acorn. Now it is almost completely flat!
So have hope! They will flatten out naturally.
