Anyone here use the Pony Box

I see “sponsored ads” or whatever on facebook from time to time. Check those out before sending any money. There are many, many comments from pi…ed off people who have sent money and received nothing. Others sending money and getting crap like coupons or free trial products. Many saying they have been trying to contact the “company” and get no response. I just read one this morning that said the person has opened a dispute with paypal because the promised items weren’t in the box and nobody responds.

It really looks like a couple of teenagers putting this together in their parents basement or something.

There was a facebook post a couple of weeks ago from a “supplier”. She was saying that she shipped product to them and didn’t get paid and again, no response from them. I don’t know how true that is but take it for what its worth I guess.

It would be interesting to hear what the OP has to say about these accusations since the OP actively advertises this product.
I also see the OP changed her signature line and it no longer has a code for this company like it did when this thread was started.

Everyone should look at the pictures of the actual ultimate box. A bag of polos, two opened bags of cookies, and a small bottle of shampoo.

Is there a link so everyone can see it?

I don’t know where that picture resides but this is their website.

http://the-pony-box.myshopify.com/

I assume the photo of the poor quality box that enjoytheride is talking about is not on the actual website.

EDIT TO ADD: apparently it’s much worse than the stock photo! See gumshoe’s post, #29, below.

The stock photo, for comparison:

I am the OP and I asked if anyone has used/tried the Pony Box. I have nothing to do with this product nor have I ordered this product. I didn’t feel it was worth the money.

trubandloki, you need to pay attention whom you accuse before you do so.

The picture is on a customer’s facebook page. Wow.

Edit: She says she ordered the “Ultimate Box” for $75. Plus shipping I’m guessing. The picture just before this one is the picture posted by the “company” of what that box looks like. Not even close.

I will openly apologize as I was wrong, I thought you were the person who started a thread about this subject and they were one of the ‘ambassadors’. I was wrong and should have researched further before posting. I am sorry.

Wow, that is sad.
If you read the comments on the page with the link before it sounds like the ambassador crowd got great boxes and everyone else was really shorted. Very sad since it sounds like a fun idea.

This is the “ambassador”.
I’m currently one of their Ambassadors. You can use the code PONYKL to get 10% off your box!

It’s meant to be fun. This months box includes items like polo wraps, small hole haynets, organic bathing and grooming products, stirrup covers, specialty treats, and lead ropes, among other items.

Its a great way to check out smaller brands and things that you may be unlikely to order individually online, but aren’t available at your tack store.

Its modelled after subscription boxes like BirchBox and Ipsy - 2 wildly popular cosmetics subscription boxes.

And at this time, the quiz is only available post-purchase, but we’re working on making it available before that.
Thanks for clarifying for me, gumshoe.

So what happens when VISA and paypal receive the disputes from dissatisfied customers? Does the pony box lose its ability to accept VISA or paypal?

Thanks.

Sorry for jumping on you. I guess people are wearing off on me today. It seems everyone I have talked to or emailed has been grumpy or b-whichy today. I think I might be getting that way a bit because of it.

We are all allowed to have a grumpy day and heck, I was wrong so pounce away.

The thread started by an “ambassador” got poofed. I guess it was too much like an ad.

They are having a ton of issues with USPS and just general shipping.

Many boxes came out ruined, including Ambassador boxes, and seeming to be missing items!

If you are having an issue with shipping, or your box was found damaged, send them an email!!!

The shipping isn’t their fault. Nor is the damage to the packages, as it is USPS’ job to get them safely to their owners.

They are filing claims against USPS for all the issues for boxes that were damaged.

Reminder, it is a brand new company! They are bound to have issues.

(I started the first thread, but because I had my ambassador code as part as my forum signature, so someone reported it as an ad. I removed my code from said forum signature because I didn’t want to get told I was “advertising” on every thread. )

Now I have a question about The Horse Box!

I heard it was a lot of supplements and grain? But for anyone who has received a box, what’s in it?

It is funny that they are claiming the lacking boxes are the fault of the postal service. You do realize that a company shipping has some requirement to properly secure boxes so they do not fall open and large items fall out, which would be what would have to happen if even half the comments on the facebook page are accurate.

How are they blaming the postal service for the boxes that contain all the things that people specifically said they did not want?

A brand new company with an issue is upfront with people and does not deceive people the way this one has been doing. If things are not going to be shipped in time for Christmas say that, do not keep lying to people.

I ordered a Pony Box on 11/3 (The “original” size). I received my box on 12/26.

For $50 + $shipping I got a busted open bag of treats (the bulk kind…nothing special). An iron on jumping horse patch (covered in horse-treat crumbs). A set of blue chevron polos. A ribbon bracelet with a bit charm. The Nov/Dec issue of ‘The Plaid Horse’ Mag. And a bottle of Ecolicious detangler. I’m still not sure if I’m supposed to be receiving a set of sport boots?? I’ve been told yes and they will ship seperate, and then I’ve read elsewhere I’m not.

The damaged boxes I will blame on the company. It’s a flip-open lid that was tapes on ONE side. SO that means that if the box got a little banged up (which we all know happens), that in theory stuff like the tiny Jumping horse patch could have slipped out the sides. The tissue paper inside the box was hanging out the side when I got it. Luckily the only damaged item seemed to be the bag of horse treats.

I’m not HUGELY disappointed like some people are because I received my box, and luckily I didn’t order it as a xmas gift like they were advertising for, so my 12/26 arrival date was not a big deal.

I will probably order from them again. But certainly NOT recurring, and will wait a few months for them to get their crap together.

It looks to me like they don’t package them well (the treats fell out in transit, etc.). I ordered one before I was aware of the issues. It will ship in January, so hopefully everything will be in order. If I think to do so, I will post back.

For those of you interested, there’s also an unaffiliated Bark Box that I ordered for Christmas. I liked it a lot… it included some treats, a bone, two toys (which she didn’t like to play with), and a bandana (which was too small for her pudgy Pug neck). So, even though this particular box wasn’t ideal for my dog, I was pretty happy with the quality of the merchandise. I will probably get one again.
