Anyone try Progressive Nutrition Topline products?

I was just going to ask this very question.

I have a young pony (4) I am riding that has been late to mature…rolly polly in the middle with a distinct falling away behind the wither. I recently put him on Progressive’s Pro-Add Ultimate (About Sixty Days Now) and his development has been nothing short of remarkable…he’s not a rolly polly any more!

I’m so impressed with my results Im thinking of starting him on the Topline and wondered if others who had tried these products were having success.

I just ordered the Tri-amino. I’m gonna try it first. The cost difference is just too big to justify the PN without clearly being able to tell why. For those of you who have recently ordered the PN product please update and take pictures if you can! I will do the same!

I’d love to know how the Tri-Animo works as well, please keep us posted!

www.uckele.com That’s the only place I’ve found online that carries it (they make it)

You can order from Horseman’s Outlet. It’s 17.99 + 8.95=26.94. This may be cheaper than ordering from Uckele. http://www.horsemansoutlet.biz

I ordered from Uckele website. Shipping is way to high, so I bought another product to offset it some. The jar should last a few months, so the total cost wasn’t too bad. On the site above the shipping is a little less!

If you decide you like the products, see if you can get buddies to go in with you. If you can order 6 of the Tri-Amino (to get a lower price) and get $150 in appropriate product, you can get free shipping as well. That’s all I ever do anymore. I use the T-A, and also use the Poly Copper and Poly Zinc.

And, fwiw, their BerryLean human protein shake is to DIE for

Would love to hear some updates from those of you who have been trying the Uckele Tri-Amino and the Progressive Topline products? Can you see any changes? Will you keep feeding?

Thank you!

I’ve been feeding Tri-Amino for a couple of months, ran out for about 3 weeks and saw my horses back start to sink again. He’s back on it as of this week. I’ve been so impressed with it, all 6 of mine are on it now. I saw changes in my gelding within 3 weeks and he wasn’t even on the full dose at that time.

I’m curious for those of you who have seen significant results with the Tri-Amino - can you tell us also what the rest of your horse’s diet consists of? Just wondering if someone feeding “X” diet would see more of a difference with the Tri-Amino than someone feeding a different type of diet.

After about a month I was seeing results from Tri-amnio. I was not even at the full dose (…it isn’t very palatable). My guy got seriously injured though and will be on stall rest for a while :frowning: so, I can’t report anymore than that!

I had to start out with about 1/5 of the dose. And then slowly creep up to the full dose over about 3 weeks. If I tried to hit them with the full dose or even a half dose in the beginning they turned their nose up but by starting small and working my way up they wound up getting used to it in about 3 weeks when they finally got on the full dose.

We just tried Progressive Topline on a gelding here and within a month, his topline DID look better. The ingredients weren’t listed on the pail, but it looked like a soy powder. I’m guessing it has amino acids that complete the proteins in common horse feed grain and/or hay, plus some body/muscle building substances.

One bucket lasted 1 month, which is pretty costly.

Topline Extreme

I just acquired a horse in very poor condition and was given the advice to try the topline extreme along with the pro elite hf feed. Ill post photos of before and after. Its been a week and we can see a difference already. Now we did power pack him and have his teeth floated so I don’t know that I can contribute it all to his feeding. I don’t know where yall were seeing the topline extreme for $45…I paid $122 for a 15 # tub. ???

Love Progressive

I have been feeding Progressive products for the last 7 years. I started when my weanling developed a swollen hock with a fragmented growth plate. I consulted Progressives nutritionist who put my horse on Rejuvenaide, a vitamin mineral supplement. She never had a problem after that and is 7 years old and sound today… I have had several friends use their Top Line products with wonderful results. I’ ve not heard of tri amino.

Not doubting you guys - but it seems like too quick a fix. We are told that proper work produces a topline, or being overweight. Do these horses not get too chubby? Do they not get that cellulite, especially those whoa re not getting ridden much?

Toplines do come with proper work, but they also come with proper nutrition.

You can get good nutrition with few calories above their forage intake. Nutrition and calories are largely, but not totally separate.

You can feed a horse fat and still make him under-nourished. You can feed proper nutrition and feed too few calories. You can feed the proper amounts of both.

Nutrition is not a quick fix. You still have to work the horse properly. But if he’s not adequately nutritioned, he’s not going to have the muscle. Adding something like this Topline product, or even Tri-Amino or Nutramino, or even a ration balancer if he only gets forage to begin with, can actually start to allow muscle to develop pretty quickly, all things relative.

I see that this original thread was started several years ago and then revived last year. Since I just purchased the Topline X-treme today (15 lb bucket $122…ouch), I thought I would revive this thread again.

I have a gelding who is ridden regularly and correctly but his topline has just never really developed. He sinks in on both sides of the withers, his spine slightly protrudes and his hip bone sticks out a little much for my taste. I have to say he is an easy keeper but always tends to have a slight hay belly. He gets plenty of good quality hay while in his stall and generous turnout, etc. He gets about 3 lbs of Purina Senior along with chopped alfalfa (Alpha-Lox by TC), a ration balancer and minerals as well. Two months ago, I read about how many horses benefit from gamma-orzanyol which is basically, rice bran oil. So, I started him on Body Builder, a gamma-orzanol derived from rice bran oil. It called for 15 cc per day, to be syringed into the mouth…messy! It was a 2 month supply. Even though it was messy, he liked the taste and I could definitely see an improvement in his topline and his hay belly began to go away within the first 2 wks. Even though I like that product and feel it would be good to continue him on it, I could not deal with the mess, plus he is boarded and I had to be the one to administer every day…barn would charge me too much to do that everyday!

So, long story short, I decided to go ahead and bite the bullet, even though Topline X-treme is really pricey, bought some. Since it is in pellet form, I can have the barn add it to his daily feed, making it much easier for me. Since I saw so much improvement with the gamma-orzanol, which is also one of the ingredients in Topline (rice bran oil)…which works much better than just adding plain rice bran, from what I’ve read, I think I will give him the one bucket of X-treme before switching to the Topline Advanced Support for maintenance.

I definitely think this is what he has needed for a very long time. Also, his energy is much improved!
