anyone use Wintec english or dressage saddles for trail?

Tevis Cup winner John Crandell rode at least a portion of the Tevis trail this year in a Wintec endurance. I saw the photos of him and Heraldic with the saddle, and I wasn’t really surprised. He typically does compete in dressage type saddles. It’s not uncommon for riders to switch tack part way through the ride, so I don’t know how many miles he did in it. He finished in a Freeform treeless. Don’t know if he used any other saddles along the way. That’s the only two I saw.

I’ve had a few different Wintecs over the years and just couldn’t get the trees to fit my horses properly. But then the horses I was fitting were very wide and barrel shaped.

I’ve done a good number of trail rides in my Wintec AP and my Kiefer dressage saddle. I prefer the dressage saddle it’s much more comfortable.

Thanks for the info. I am still looking–but it will have to wait. My trailer stole the money for tires!!1:D
