I have been following this thread with interest as I have an Appendix mare. She actually looks a lot like yours.
Unfortunately, I cannot see your pics as I am not on FB. Can you change the settings so I can see them?

I don’t know how to do that on here, any recommendations?
Here again is the video of the winner of the first Huntfield AQHA Derby finals. This event was an all-volunteer effort from the wonderful AQHA hunter crowd.

Since I am not on Facebook, I don’t know how it works. I do know that other CoTHers have been able to make their FB settings public, though. I wish I could see your pics.
Another idea is to get a photobucket account and post them there.
Lets see if this works!
She is gorgeous! I have an APHA paint/TB mare that reminds me of your girl. She was broke out by a WP guy so when she came back from training we did have to teach her to get off her forehand, pick up her head, and extend her stride a bit. The retraining wasn’t bad at all and she has been coming along great.
What I have found is that a horse can be competitive in USEF and AQHA/APHA over fences classes, but not the under saddle classes of the breed shows. Their idea of a canter in the U/S is not something that would get a horse around a course of jumps.
Thanks for re-posting the pics! She is just lovely, and I look forward to more updates!

It works just fine. Absolutely lovely, looks like she has a very inquisitive and pleasant attitude and what a nice, soft eye. She shows ears and eyes like that over fences she’s going to point up in a Hunter class-that’s the part you can’t train. Expression, and she’s got it. Imagine she came out of the womb with it, like to see her Mom, must be some nice mare.
Thank you! She’s got the best personality and temperament. Considering I bought her site unseen based upon pictures and video, I am thrilled (I was really nervous since I NEVER EVER do things like that). She is inquisitive but sooo level headed and brave. The day she arrived I hopped on her bareback with a halter and lead line and walked her all over the farm. She was a saint, not one wrong move. Come to find out, it was her first time being ridden bareback. How many other 3 year olds can do that? I’m really excited to see what the future holds for her! Thank you everyone for your kind words.
she is lovely!
I rode and showed Chocs De Boss when he first started on the USEF circuit. Then Cara Anthony showed him in the Pre-Greens. Judges LOVED him! He was just beautiful across the ground with a jump to die for. He is 5 years old in the video you posted. He was champion that week at one of the Summer In The Rockies shows in Colorado. Cara did wonders with that horse. He is now routinely winning on the AQHA circuit with both his trainer and owner. You will fit right in with your mare
I don’t have any comments on your post other than I am totally jealous! I have been dreaming of owning a horse out of the same bloodlines! Good luck in any ventures you choose!
Thanks for the update
I love updates like this!!!
I missed this video the first go rounf…
Nice horse. And this is exactly what I want for my next one.
He has some quarter horse traits (built slightly downhill, straighter pasterns and a little hesitation behind at the canter, which can turn into a 4 beat canter without impulsion) which would be fine in quarter horse hunters, but would be negatives in open hunters. He also has a very TB’y look, which, again, is a minus in the open hunters (which is why there is now a separate division for TB hunters).
He is a lovely horse who will excel in QH shows, but who will struggle to be competitive in open shows.
Lord Helpus, what you said about the QH canter is so interesting to me. I study the canter because I love a canter that is slow and flat across the ground. I see it in warmbloods that win. Sent you a pm about it. Would love to discuss. The winning canter across the ground is fascinating to me. Not kidding!
she is so cute!!
Great update, she’s lovely and so pretty! I still love a good quarter horse… one of my best little hunters was a zips chocolate line quarter horse and we did great up to 3ft hunters and now she’s happily trucking beginners around as a school horse. They are fabulous
Love the update, you got lucky with her, perfect for you and sounds like she’s fun to own.
