So I have been slowly working on my horse bucket list, one item is to take my AQHA mare to Congress next year before I breed and retire her to babysitting little kids. We compete regularly on the A circuit in the hunters and do ok over fences. I am looking for a training within 3 hours of North Central Indiana to work with. We have the jumping part down; I just need help with the logistics. I am making the trip to Congress on the 12th and 13th to watch the working hunters. Any suggestions or recommendations would be appreciated.
How far is that from Minneapolis/St Paul Minnesota?
Lainie DeBoer is about the best there is, and also shows the A circuit. She should be at Congress.
That’s 8 to 10 hours, a little too far.
Well you do have a trailer don’t you? Lol. Good luck, have you tried other venues on the inter webz? Of course you have…
I second Lanie! She is a great person and an amazing trainer!
David Warner was in Michigan and has moved to Frankfort, Kentucky. Both he and Lainie DeBoer show all around you and you could meet either barn at shows and definately at Congress.
What exactly do you mean by logistics? If it’s a matter of figuring out when to show up, coordinating stalls and entries, schooling at the show, and other items like that, then you probably don’t need someone local - as others have mentioned, there are several good trainers elsewhere in the midwest that make the haul to Congress each year.
