I don’t know how they’ll argue that point either. After all, Barney Ward has been banned from USEF shows for life and he’s still in business. The man can prep them from 3 feet off any show grounds and effectively train show horses.
There is a long history of breed associations holding the power to “limit trade” if members want to participate in contests they sponsor. In the 19th century there were some huge suits involving faked milk production records for Holstein dairy cattle. The Holstein-Friesian Association won by kicking the offending breeder out and reserving the right to limit membership because it was a private organization.
