Arabians or Others for Trail Riding

I’ve heard so many good things about these horses, and so little bad. People who get them just love them. The filly is a pretty girl.

Pray that we get her in the catchpen today!

I got her! We had to lure her and her mother into a series of catch pens and then filter out Mom and push her from pen to pen until she was in a chute and then we were able to to push her into the trailer

I ride the one I’m with! There are so many fun things you can do with a horse, and any horse who is sound and has a good attitude can do endurance, eventing, gymkhana, etc. I rode endurance (mostly 50s) with a Hanoverian in his 20s. Arabs are nice too. And here is a link to a popular option these days:

I have had 2 purebreds that made great trail horses. My first one seemed to sour on the ring. I rehomed him with a friend that mostly trail rode and he became the handsomest trail pony you ever saw and he loved it. She got him at 8 and rode him to 25 when he retired from the trails but help teach the grandkids to ride. He lived to 30.

My other purebred was a very competent trail horse and worked good in the ring too.

Quick update - this one has been a WAY bigger challenge than the one I adopted a few years back. She wanted nothing to do with me. Took me 3 weeks to get a halter on her BUT… yesterday when I approached the pens, she whinnied at me. Melted my heart
