are there certain times of year when it's best to buy tractors?

We have the JD 4310 and it has been great, except when it wasn’t! LOL

Seriously, the tractor is about 9-10 years old, used VERY lightly and has just had the 2nd engine replaced. .[/QUOTE]

Trail blazer …Where are you located? What dealer has been servicing your equipment. Five months sitting then a replacement engine ?? Sounds like your Deere dealer needs a visit from Deere corporate. Two engines ?? something is not right in the service / support area. No wonder Deere in your area is a lost cause.

Yes, FIVE months - the entire growing season! The tractor went in for a hydraulic leak and service, came back and lost oil pressure on the first mow. They could never figure out why. Later they claimed it was something with the cam shaft and that the bolt wouldn’t stay in. After lots of complaining they gave us an old loaner for a while. One day we came home to find there guy headed out of the farm with the loaner on the trailer, but no sign of ours. It took 3-4 days for the service manager to call us back and tell us he had ALREADY replaced the engine. He claimed he called, but mysteriously, there were no missed calls on either of our phones. LOL And the sales manager is a good friend - which the service manager knows. It is going to get uglier, for sure.

Unfortunately, the corporate office has already made one clean sweep of this store a few years ago but it appears not to have helped in the service department. I am gathering all of our records and will definitely be drafting a letter to them very soon. And social media could be my next move. I guess it will be their choiece!
