Arlo wireless security cameras? Battery operated, night vision, motion detection, iph

This sounds like what I recommended slightly to someone posting about this relatively same topic a while ago.

@Color of Light, the cameras do most likely talk to each other over their own little wifi setup. Also as a side note, the farther you have those remote items from their base the louder they scream their signal and the faster they drain the batteries.

I always recommend wired if you can help it when it comes to remotes. It’s easier to plumb out a few PoE cables to cameras than changing batteries weekly

FYI, I noticed recently that Ring is coming out with a solar powered camera for their system.

I’m sorry some rando bot come on here, Arlo has actually been really helpful when I needed assistance from them :frowning:

We deleted the spam; feel free to continue to post on the topic.

I think Arlo also has those solar panels, but it will be a separate purchase, unfortunately.I do love our arlo, We even used the extra camera as a baby monitor since its night vision is quite good too. However, there’s this time we needed to call them and the reps weren’t exactly polite.

I have Arlo Pro cameras and a somewhat similar situation to yours.
I keep my base station near a window in my house that is about 200’ from my metal barn. I have one Arlo inside my metal barn closest to my house- it is near a large wooden door with windows and the base is on the wood. Instead of attaching my other cameras directly to the barn, my hubby made some wooden base stations that are about 3’ out from the barn that blend in with landscaping.
I have had zero issues in the two years I’ve had them. I do recommend the magnetic bases- they are just so easy.

I hope this doesn’t step too outside the purview of this thread, but can you go into more detail about this part?

Ethernet out to the barn, got that. From your router in the house? And then connect to this gizmo?
