At the Vets

Well, quick update to my post above. Vet needed to show me how to give SC fluids so I was let in the side door into a “special room” (their term) for clients who need to learn procedures. Clients are allowed access to pet only via “special room”. Cat was happy to see me and we learned new stuff . A Gold Star to the techs, they are awesome!

ZIVA is one seriously cute kitten !!

In Virginia, the Department of Health still hasn’t given the “go ahead” for veterinarians to start letting clients in the clinics with their pets. Although, a few clinics in our area are starting to let the clients in with their pets. We will follow the Department of Health guidelines, though.

We are only allowing clients in for euthanasia. Curbside otherwise.

Same. Only 2 members of the family (wearing masks) are allowed in with the pet.

I have been allowed in (masked) with my dog for the two vet visits I have made this Fall. This is a busy single vet practice.

Awwww so cute

Ziva is going to be a real beauty!

Sorry about your other cats.

I live in Maryland. We call when we arrive and the tech comes out to take the animal inside. I probably won’t be very popular with my opinion, but I think pets do better without their owners coming in with them. If I am anxious, my pet will feed off my energy and they might act out more.

I do prefer going in with my cats. I don’t get anxious and can keep my cool.

At one vet office, I can stand or sit outside the door but not be in the room. The other place insists on no people present at all, but have learned that I insist on being present so they have an exam room with a window and I can stand outside and see exam. Anyone that tries to prevent me from coming in when my pet is PTS is going to have problems.
