Atlanta Barns

I work at a midtown law firm and it is safe to say I would never consider trying to commute to Alpharetta, Roswell or Canton with my work schedule. In my experience going east or west is easier than north. To the OP, feel free to PM me about what has worked for me, although it has been a while since I’ve been a first year, lol. If you end up at a barn with an indoor or a lighted arena, you may actually be able to squeeze in a weekday ride here and there - it is just hard to predict exactly which day each week, so it takes some flexibility.

If you are willing to venture southside from Atlanta (several of our boarders do), my trainer has just started her premier facility located in Palmetto, GA, very accessible off of South Fulton Pkwy. We have riders of all ages. Lit full size arena with jumps, 12 stall barn, 40 acres of pastures and trails.

I ride at Phoebe Loughrey Stables! She (and her team) are great! www.plstables.com

Since this thread is already going, I’m relocating to cabbage town in Atlanta. I loved Falcon Ridge when I visited but it’s 45mins without traffic. I have a young (3.5yr old) who is just barely started. I’d prefer lots of turn out versus A show barn. Any and all suggestions would be greatly appreciated!! And does not have to be h/j, I’m very adaptable!

Try Jim and Michelle Bassett at Southwinds. They take great care of the young ones.

Bumping this up again as I’ve officially moved to Atlanta full time. I’m in midtown and given my work schedule probably need to find somewhere that does Saturday lessons. I’ve gotten some ideas already that I’m going to follow up on but I would love any other more recent ideas!

Definitely try the Bassetts at Sound Wind Stables. It’s by far the easiest to get to from Midtown and they don’t have a 52/week a year show schedule so weekend lessons are the norm. Plus lots of working adult boarders who ride after work so the 7-9PMers will keep you company.
