Attention to Those Who Have Placed Pasture Horses in SouthEast

An Alabama friend of mine had posted a link to this article in her news feed this morning. She was arrested in Alabama yesterday (1/15/19) and posted the $15K bail.

What a rotten cow. Any potential adopter - employer - whatever - ought to Google her first. She will never get a job as a vet or anything like it. And if she does, I would seriously have to wonder about that practice.

Why would people like this become vets? Kristen Lindsey (the Texas vet who murdered a cat and bragged about it on facebook) and this woman?

Someone started a petition to the Vet school calling on them to issue a University Expulsion which is a permanent separation from the University without the right of readmission. https://www.change.org/p/tuskegee-university-removal-of-fallon-danielle-blackwood-from-tuskegee-s-veterinary-program

Thanks for the link to the petition, I forwarded to everyone I know. I am still heartsick that I gave her my poor black mare.

So very sorry to everyone who fell victim to this criminal. Hugs to all of you and prayers for the horses.

Vet practices will hire just about anybody with a license, if they have some connection to the them, or they work cheap.

There was another vet I was sure would lose her license, after the husband died using vet drugs, but apparently didn’t since they’re now working somewhere else.

She looks stoned out of her mind in the mugshot. Methinks someone was financing a drug habit in addition to a new truck and trailer…

In the article, the DA says he believes none of the horses Fallon Blackwood took are alive. That pretty much says it all.

That is one woman who does not deserve to be a veterinarian or in any kind of animal care at all.

I’d bet every one of them went through the Stanley Brothers facility in Attalla. It’s a sale barn/auction and I expect she’s got an arrangement with them to keep those transactions outside of the sale itself.

This showed up in my FB newsfeed today:

Stolen Horse International-NetPosse.com added 35 new photos to the album: Alabama Vet Student Cases. March 3, 2018
Arraignment set for Fallon D. Blackwood on March 5, 2019 at 9:30am Circuit Court of Blount County, Alabama. Assigned to Judge Steven King. Case: CC 2018 000341.00
This is for the arrest from January 2019 13 indictments in Alabama charging her with “with bringing into the state property obtained by false pretense elsewhere.”
All of these horses were allegedly taken from their owners under false pretenses by a vet student, Fallon Blackwood. As of 4/3/18, Fallon Blackwood was arrested in Macon County, AL from an arrest warrant out of North Carolina for 2 horses - Micky & Clue. She was again arrested on 1/12/19 on an arrest warrant from Circuit Court of Blount County for 13 indictments in Alabama charging her with “with bringing into the state property obtained by false pretense elsewhere.”

I can only hope she gets whats coming to her. There is a special place in hell for people like her that pray on good natured, trusting people, only to have their beloved horses killed so she could make some money. :disgust: I hope the vet school finally sees the light and expels her. And may she not see the light of day for a long time to come.

I wish there was something the school could do, but they simply can’t.

The vet school can’t do anything to her, unless she’s convicted, and since it was off campus, they’ll undoubtedly get sued if they even try.

She was a third year student when all of this was publicized, so I’m guessing she’s fourth year, and about to graduate, so Tuskegee won’t have her as an issue for long if she’s on schedule.

I don’t know why the university is not acting on this (can’t find any information saying that they are). I work at a university, and the student code of conduct here is quite clear: they can and will hold students accountable for unlawful behavior off campus.
On a related note: I worked at a Fortune 100 company. We were told that as managers, we could be fired for conduct outside of work that “reflected negatively on the corporation”. An example: manager involved in a boating accident where he was DUI and a skier was killed: the manager was fired.
What a terrible,heart-breaking situation for all the owners involved.

The school released a statement at the time of the first charges, saying there was nothing they could do. In today’s legal climate, I’m sure the school is worried about lawsuits, and doing anything before a conviction. I haven’t heard about actual court schedules, but I bet there will requests delaying until after school is finished so the school can’t do anything.

The school’s first statement is in posting #24 on this thread.

The school could have taken action at any time. Hell, Alabama doesn’t even follow the laws of the USA. They could expel her under the archaic laws of Alabama (ok so GA which had been more progressive but after the last election elected cavemen, will soon be as bad)

I wish they would have expelled her too, and unfortunately, they won’t do it. I think the school just wants to get her out of there, and unless something changed, that will happen in May, or whenever she’s due to graduate. Then it will be up to the state licensing board, but who knows what they’ll do either. Don’t be surprised if she gets hired by a vet practice either.

She has only been charged in two states, and I don’t think went to trial. I doubt there is anything the vet board can do unless there is a conviction, there may not be a conviction, and with plea bargaining, or other settlements, who knows what the outcome will be. There may not be anything the vet board can do.

Do I understand correctly that if she is charged and convicted, she will not be able to prescribe vet drugs? So that will inhibit her vocation? I hope she rots in hell, btw.

And here is the thing about a vet practice hiring her - she didn’t just “make a mistake”. She conned many different people for a long time. And if you think that a person like that with no moral compass is suddenly going to be a good honest employee then you are pretty stupid. That old saying about a person showing you who she is and all that…

Thanks for the reference where the university’s response was shown. She has now been arrested and has been charged in two states. Posting #25 indicates that they do have a code of conduct. My guess? The university has a connection here. Maybe some of the horses were used in the vet school programs: put under for practice surgeries, and then euthanized, or something similar. Still terrible, every way around.
