I know COTH has a healthy Maryland contingent and I’m hoping you guys can help me out. I would love to dig up any information about a horse I used to ride.

He’s a '93 grey TB gelding (I know that really narrows it down). He was ‘Breaker Reef’ when I knew him; we called him Breaker. I had thought he was foaled in March '95 but a Brisnet search only turns up a Breaker Reef foaled April '93, but that record does say grey and foaled in MD, so I think this is him. The PedigreeQuery record lists Raymond Lambiasi as the breeder.

I leased him in Millersville, MD in 2001-2003, during which time we showed around the local/schooling hunter circuit. He was sold to a girl in Frederick, I believe, in early 2003. Spotted one time after that, by my trainer who was judging at an Aspiring Heights Farm schooling show. After that I lost track of him.

I can post photos if that would help.

If there has been one special horse in my life, it was him. We had that connection that you only come by rarely. I would love to know how he’s doing!

Betsy is Ray’s wife who has the concession at Swan Lake Show Stables in PA. Perhaps you can contact her there.

Friends, I hit a dead end in my search for this horse. I am hoping you all can again help me pick up the trail. I learned that Breaker was in Damascus, Maryland from 2003 to 2008, possibly at Ridgefield Farm. I tried a phone number for the farm, from the Equiery directory, but it was no longer in service. Any more ideas?

I think Ridgefield used to host some Howard County shows in that time frame; maybe join their Facebook group and ask? Someone there might remember the horse, either from their shows or others in the area. Unfortunately I personally wasn’t doing hunters in the area at that point.

Ridgefield? I believe that was Brian Gruber, but I am not sure where he is currently. Or Morgan Graber? I think she was there during that time. Sorry, not very helpful.

Ridgefield Farm is Brian Gruber. I’ve been out of the regional show scene for a while, so not sure if it is still functioning or not. Address is 28901 Kemptown Rd, Damascus, MD 20872.

I think the HCHSA facebook site is a great suggestion. I also have a FB friend who was there during that time and I’ll ask her what she remembers.

I used to ride in Millersville! Where did you ride? I was at Windy Knoll Farm from '99 - 2002.
