What about a Steve Jeffreys Ammo? They are synthetic, about $600 Australian new, and are a balanced seat saddle - have had a few friends with those, one of which has a very wide clydesdale cross. She loves her saddle.

I think it’s probably a bit narrow for my Arabs, plus, it doesn’t spread the weight over a large enough area. I’ve never really tried to figure it out because I bought a different saddle that fit and just kept this for a spare. I have two friends who ride in Aussies and swear by them.

A wide is unfortunately too narrow as well. She needs at LEAST x-wide, often an xx-wide. She’s a bigggg girl. :smiley:

And at the moment, I’m not interested in the synthetics. That may change in the future, but I have found some reasonable-priced leather Aussies from reputable dealers that are in my price range, so for now I’m gonna keep looking at them. :yes:
